I've also wondered what the major difference was between why I loved playing siege 2-3 years ago, over all the stuff they've changed I think this is #1 For me. It just felt so nice playing

I remember most of these changes coming out and how it kneecapped me for a while. the quick leaning needed to go but god did I love having it to abuse.

Ironically, back then the mechanics of the game were fast (as shown in the video) but the style of play most players had was slow because people were learning maps and stuff, and they had 4 minute timer for action phase. That's why an Ash rush in 2016-18 was so annoying. Now, the mechanics are slower but the pace of the gameplay from the players has sped up quite a lot.

I don’t get why they nerfed speed so bad. Cav was actually fun when she was released because she could zoom around the map like a real roamer. Now people roam with Rook and don’t notice a difference

I'm guilty of roaming with rook, and I also play cav aswell, you can notice a difference if you play them immediately one after the other, but in the long run it's really not that much

Probably mainly cause it created a lot of hit reg, hit boxes and irregularities issues.. Like sure we all remember quick leaning and the old dynamism but it clearly had a cost

Anyone that knows this game knows they need everything. Run speed, ADS time, vault time, you name it, they nerf it. They nerfed cheater free lobbies too.

Gregor said it best, to paraphrase he basically exclaimed that one shot headshot and the fast time to kill in this game worked well with the much faster movement and animations of old siege. But now that those animations and movements take longer, it makes no sense to keep the fast time to kill and the one shot headshot mechanic the same way they used to be, and not slow those down or change them accordingly.

Yeah and that opinion sucks. The one shot headshot is sieges *thing* changint that would absolutely kill the game. Believe me, the movement speed is way better this way. And this is coming from someone who thinks siege lost it's way.

@@player-ti4cq Maybe it's just different people talking? Gamers are more vocal when they think something is wrong than when they are happy with the way something is. When something gets changed the people who asked for the change don't need to complain about it, but the people who don't like the change speak up. I think that possibility is worth considering.

i hope they bring back the pre-nerfed angled grip. i prefer the vertical now because angled almost had the same speed as vertical but vertical could control more recoil which is better. i consider angled has its own benefit if its below 0.20, maybe around 0.18 - 0.19

They most likely won't, seeing as they nerfed it to let the vertical be a more viable option. But now its like .1 of a second faster than vertical so you might as well not use it

Ya I think they overnerfed the angled grip. It just doesn't make any sense to use the angled grip over the vertical grip now unless you're playing deathmatch or some shit.

angled is just flat out better in 99% percent of guns because recoil just isnt a thing in this game so the vertical gives u nothing while the angled gives u a buff there's a few guns like maybe 3 or 4 where vertical is worth considering but even there "giting gud" and using the angled anyways will be better than needing the vertical

i think the one thing that i miss from old siege (without considering the color apllet, cuz it changed to help the competitive scene) was the speed of the game. I feel like it slowed doen so much that it became overall slower, the "20sec meta" only is a thing cuz of it too...

I miss when this game didn't suck. Looking at this vid reminded me how fun it used to be and how much better the old movement was. It fit with the gameplay. But now it feels clunky and janky and slow. Ot doesn't help that old leaning only had one issue, lean spam. The new leaning has a large number of perspective issues. I stopped playing around the end of Y4 and played a bit again recently and i cant say i regret it. The way the game plays isnt as fun as it used to be and half the matches i play i just get team killed, the other half i have this annoying bug that cuts out all of my audio, then if i leave or the match ends my game soft locks and i have to restart my game.

Did people forget this change? Hell I still played when they made the speed adjustments to 1 and 3 armor, you guys may have forgotten how much people complained about 1 armor being overpowered and 3 armor being useless just for how slow they were, case and point being ash which no matter where you stood was thought to be the best character in the game for a loong time just for her speed (and good gun)

I miss old siege so much. The overall gameplay and atmosphere of 2016-2017 siege was its prime, I find the game just bad now. Especially in ranked, the simplicity and fun is gone when there is map bans, operator bans, half the maps aren't even played, wtf is ubisoft doing.

I remember I played a lot with thermite as last man in the offense and could rush very fast to the bomb site to open the reinforced walls when was safe. People with Ash would be inside the bombs in less than 30 seconds of the match.

I'm good with the changes as you could just be one man army in team base game, yes rushing in a option you can do, but as tactical game you should coordinate with your teammates than just doing everything yourself

Everytime I get on siege now I get sad because I miss the old game, I cant stand playing this game for more than 2 hours now but back in the day I'd grind for a stupid amount of time and I think most of the OG playerbase feels me on this. Its depressing and unrewarding knowing you're playing a game that's been out for 7 years yet got worse and continues to get worse as it goes on. It sucks man.

Too bad so many players left the game, including me, cause of their bs work. They should have left the game the way it was. It was a masterpiece for me, probably one of the best fps games at that time, if not the best. I can't express how upset i am about it after 2k hours.

@@H4SNU Well, if you've seen the video you would've seen that more things got slower besides walking. Switching weapons, Aiming, Jumping, Peeking, Running... So as to finally answer your clarification, That is one of many more reasons why he stopped playing.

It's sad to see how slow the game has become. By the time I load into a match I lose interest and turn off the game. Everything just takes so long for a round to end so quickly.

@@linkhidalgogato thats not his point, his point is that braindead people hold angles for 2 minutes when its like a 1v5 and its unwinnable. Yah there are exceptions like people who'll clutch it or 4 - 4 match point but the point being that being a pussy and playing it safe when the end is maybe an exit frag or two isn't worth wasting time for the others. this came off angry ngl but I'm too lazy to write it off mb but I hope you understand what I'm trying to say.

New R6 feels more tactical and realistik. In old version game has too much glitch and speed nerds. People complain about bullet dodgers or something like that. This is the best way to play Tactical FPS. Otherwise you can play Cs:Go, Valorant etc.

It ain't tactical or realistic anymore. It's just a weird shooter mode that tries to be tactical but fails to do so. If you told me that 2021 Siege was just the Beta and 2016 Siege was the final product, I'd believe you.
