You can see in his face how in love he is with Peyton! It's like every word she is saying is just as painful to him as it is to her! There are so many of these intimate moments in season 5 where we see Lucas together with Peyton, and where his resolve and confidence cracks and he just gives into his love for her for a few seconds. This is one of those moments :)

They both acted brilliantly in this scene, you can see the pain and the turmoil in Lucas' eyes at the thought of Peyton letting go and you can see how brave and scared she is in doing so.

God, I've been watching One Tree Hill since it first started. I remember watching a behind the scenes of the first season and they said they cast Hilary Burton because there was a "sadness to her eyes". I could watch Brucas scenes, emotional ones, over and over again and not a tear will shed. But this scene, the sadness to her eyes, and the cracking of her words, just shows how hard it is for her to say all of this. It makes me cry everytime! Hilary Burton is honestly the best actress out there.

Hilarie is an amazing actress, she makes those who watch her, believe her! I love this scene! So much passion and emotion, a beautiful scene that many who have loved and lost can relate to.

This scene is chilling, Hilarie Burton is one of the best young actresses, she's brilliant. Leyton forever, TLA! Here you can see just how much she loves him, and the look in his eyes, you can see that he still loves her too, they are their one and only love.

hilarie is an amazing actress, she understands true emotion. and peyton's character is outstanding too, strong, independent, loving but truthful. she could teach girls nowadays a little something about integrity.

hilarie is a great actress giving 100% justice in the character very worthy to adore she is amazing and Beautiful, love her....how i wish in real life chad and hilarie end up together forever.

Ugh this breaks my heart everytime. Hilarie's acting in this scene is awesome.

LEYTON FOREVER

I remember this as clear as day the first time round. Shouting at my screen "SAY SOMETHING!" after Peyton said her speech (tbh I still do it now) and you could just tell on Lucas' face that he wanted to say something but didn't know what. Or he did, but couldn't bring himself to say it.

Awe, I really love this scene! Lucas's face at the end makes me sad...you can totally tell he doesn't want her to let go but yet he can't seem to find any words! One thing I don't like about Luke is that he's always in denial when he's not with Peyton...it gets irritating after a while. :/

But this scene really turned things around for me. it shows exactly how much Peyton loves him and to be able to let him go is such a noble and brave thing to do. I really admire her strength and this scene really does wonders for her character. Brilliantly acted too.

I didn't wish to offend. I've just struggled with this couple for a long time. I do understand the fact that Leyton are soulmates, but I feel like Peyton should've taken the high road when it came to Lindsey. She didn't say anything at the wedding, very true, but I wish she had been kinder beforehand. Like Lucas, I think of Peyton with integrity, and during season 5 I did not think she had any. I do actually enjoy the couple, but in season 1. Leyton should've happened differently in my opinion.
