AOD on a tablet to be left charging for hours is NOT wise. screen burn'in is still an issue over great lengths of time with OLED screens (12 to 18hours)

@deepin2u Well, you have more screen to shift it around on a tablet, compared to a phone. It doesn't stay stationary. This is not an issue.

They have "daily board" which is similar to AOD but only works when the device is charging

6:01 It is nicely convenient to long press an app to bring up its menu. 9:16 there will be occasions to use the gridline and that's a useful camera feature. 10:25 Custom camera widget is kool. 17:33 background continuous playing is must-have. 19:02 flight mode retention capability is a must-have. 11:27 background blur is a must-have feature for online video streaming. 11:46 Saving a sticker of your picture is a must-have feature, it's Kool to create emojis among other similar things.

Not surd to call it a new feature or rather a fix, but since One UI 6.0 the "Second screen" feature can be used for DeX (it was definitely not possible before). This means, it is now possible to use the Tab S8 Ultra's "Second screen" for running DeX wirelessly from Fold 5. Why you should do that besides the fact that it is now possible? Well, you could have your Fold 5 on the charger and still access/use it through DeX on your Tab S8/S9 while sitting on the Sofa. Before One UI 6.0 you could do it only through your Notebook via Link to WIndows or DeX for Windows. Another use-case: you allow your kid to play on your phone while you use it yourself through DeX on your Tab S8/S9.

Samsung Australia gave me $150 eVoucher for purchasing the S24 Ultra 1TB. I used the eVoucher to get $150 off the Tab S9 Ultra 1TB tablet. I also purchased the 45W power adapter for the tablet. I paid using PayPal. Total amount was $5,267 (Australian dollars). Arriving on 30th at our house. Gonna have to look on our outdoor home security cameras to make sure no one steals the items.

Did it affect the battery? I have the update but I haven't updated it yet in my S9FE. right now my battery is about 2 days on a 85% charge. Do you think I should Update?

The new DeX mode is a joke. It is what I have been using without DeX by launching the apps as pop-up windows. The only difference is that the menu is moved from the center of the title bar to the right corner of the title bar. They could have achieved this by simply adding a new configuration setting such as "open apps always as pop-up window". You actually see instantly that it is not the proper DeX: you can't have a separated screen on a second monitor. If someone didn't not know the system, she/he would just be wondering why the external monitor no longer was working. Also, all the snapping keyboard hotkeys don't work in the new DeX. It is just the damn tablet mode, but worse than before: you can‘t use the left and right column of the home screen for positioning icons there! Why? @Samsung: make the classic DeX mode the default, otherwise your users just get confused. Or at least change to the classic DeX if an external monitor is connected.

Im sure Dex supports an external screen yet you need to ensure the resolution is supported. that or you may need GoodLock.

@@deepin2u I think you misunderstood me. I know that DeX Classics still works perfectly with external screens, even up to 4K (I am using it with One UI 6). Just the new DeX mode is a joke and can't simply run on an external monitor because it is just an extended tablet mode. I would love to see Samsung to make the new DeX mode the default tablet mode (because it is basically just the tablet mode).

My S9+ still has the November 1 Patch and it has some terrible bugs. We're in February.. is anytime finally coming a new software update??

The New Dex user interface is moderately effective for tablet usage, yet it presents several significant challenges. The aspect ratio of tablets, while adequate for media consumption, falls short in facilitating productivity tasks. A notable issue in the classic Dex version is the disproportionately large dock, which would benefit from a reduction in height. Additionally, the applications top frames are excessively thick, leading to unnecessary space consumption. This issue is further compounded in the New Dex version, where an additional top curtain feature has been introduced, raising questions about its utility and impact on user experience.

Thanks, had the same issues with my beloved Tab S6.... it's a pain to use for productivity despite their marketing introduction of Dex, the tablet is perfect for media consumption but not productivity... also had issues where Dex can't multitask the pop out don't work well on Netflix or any media player when you have multiple pop out running.

The aspect ratio for this tablet line is 16:10, just like most laptops. I could see there being an issue on smaller displays like the 11 inch, but the 14.6 inch has more screen real estate than my MacBook Air, which is also 16:10.

One thing Apple is very good at is updates, all devices at the same time. Im on tab s8 plus in AU and still on november security update and no UI6 in sight. Samsung lift your game it is the single worst thing owning an android.

I got it on my s9 ultra but i really don't think that the new control center is adjusted for the size of this tablet. Its too small when compared to the previous version and I think it does not look good at all, even though it is a visual update. Size should be adjusted.

What I really hate is that when I do video calls on my tab s9+. It Zooms in onto my face and because the tablet is tilted up. It always faces upwards and the top half of my face instead of facing my face in the center. And I don't understand why when I use the camera app, I can use the 0.5x on the camera app but now when I video calls because it's too close to my face. Secondly everytime I want to do splitscreens. Instead of showing me the app icons, it shows a preview of the app and it takes a few seconds for it to load which is time wasting. And because it shows me a preview of all the recent apps instead of the icons. I have to focus harder at the details of the app to distinguish the app. Either way UI 6.0 is ass and I want to go back to UI 5.0

I set Vibration off in the Sound & notification categ, but whenever I have incoming message, it will as well vibrate. I go to each app to turn off the vibration, but there is only option between Silent or Sound with vibration allowed. Is there a way to turn off vibration but still leave the notification sound on? Thank you

After one ui 6 update, if home up module is on (good lock), only upto 8 apps can be added to the taskbar. Anyone facing this issue? If home up module is off, we can add more than 8 apps.. Its really annoying

@@deepin2u bro.. the functionality of task bar itself is to reduce the hassle to find/search frequently used app in the app drawer. If the task bar is enabled why would I bother searching for apps😅 All I am concerned about is that like the previous version I am not able to add more than 8 apps.

The MAJOR change that they made do DEX is that you can no longer access DEX from a 3rd party launcher like you used to be able to. NOW, if you use a 3rd party launcher, you have to switch back to the DEFAULT launcher before it will open DEX.......This sucks! 😢

when the tablet get a hold gesture, it refuses to interact with the s pen for an unknown amount of time, sometimes forever until I press the button while holding the s pen near the display. unusable since I always rest my hand on the display while using the pen and palm rejection is non existance. litterally snapped my pen in half in anger and odin it back to one ui 5.

@@fahimshahrier1309I first have to hover the tip within 1.5-2cm from the screen(air view pointer shows up), then put my hand on the screen and it is rejected on one ui 5.1 my hand would be kept rejected if I lift the tip away, but on 6 it registers immediately when the tip is far from the screen(air view pointer’s gone), then triggers a hold gesture and the device refuses to interact with the pen until I press the pen button.

Man I wish samsung would have made a floating apple magic keyboard style case for this thing. Lenovo did it for their ultra tablet and I LOVE that case. Samsung’s book cover keyboard sucks. It’s flimsy and cheap. I hope the S10 ultra comes in a 5G variant too.
