You're right about big things ahead for Perth..they really gearing the city up for more growth and starting to open it up to the world. More direct flights to Europe will bring more tourists as well .lots of big infrastructure projects going on around the metro area. I remember Perth 50 years ago and it's like night and day how it was

Like many places, Perth city has "died off" since the 2020 lockdowns, the day and night life is a shadow of it's former self, so many venues and shops have closed. February Fringe Festival is what really livens up the city for a month.

@@AnthInOz 2025 it's from 17 Jan to 16th Feb. Most of the events are in Northbridge. There's magic shows, burlesque, stand up comedy, concerts, circus and combinations of all of the above, mostly in tents. Over that month there will be well over 100 different shows on and Northbridge becomes very vibrant.

Perth has a lot of great beaches and stuff around the city, i think you spent too long in the CBD

My stay was literally on the outskirts of the CBD and most days I just go with the flow. Definitely open to suggestions of specific spots and things to do ☺️

That art you couldn't make out was in Front of St Georges Cathedral. It represents the Lance used by St George to slay the dragon and is supposed to point to victory over darkness. I got married in that church.

@kenbel2000 that makes sense once explained! Shame I just looked at it and thought it was a needle through a cloth... like maybe the clothing industry next to the cathedrals and churches. But alas, thanks for helping 🙏🏻

The WACA is no longer the main cricket and AFL arena , a new stadium the Optus Stadium just across river opened a few years ago

Hey Anth. I tried commenting on your other video, but it keeps giving me a error on my end. Don't feel obligated whatsoever, but there's a cool Abirginal cultural exhibit at the WA museum called Boola Bardip and there's also the Berdnt Museum at the Western Australia University if you wanted to check those out before you head East ☺️

Perth is a UK name of course, like most places in Australia, and if you look at the ownership structure and exploitation of resources in this stolen occupied remnant of empire it makes sense for many british immigrants considering it a birth right being here...as for the south seas poms-kiwis it actually is a birth right...haha

Should come in summer. The weather is freezing at the moment. Get down to Busselton or up to Kalbarri. Get out of the city .

Far better in what way lol? NSW is less affordable and SA is less developed.
