Last year the Cumbre de Vieja volcano erupted on La Palma. We went there to see the aftermath of the eruption and the impact on life on La Palma. On the motorcycle we had a good view of the new road over the lava fields. We also visit Fran at his EkoFinca, where he produces banana’s.

At this point there is no lava left, it's all igneous rocks now. New earth.

Many thanks to you both ,it is very interesting to see the people of the island pulling together to try get some normality back in their lives,will the temporary road be properly paved with asphalt at sometime in the future ? Your english is really very good ,I watched bushcraft bear during the volcanic eruption for updates on the volcano.Best wishes to you both and the people of the island.Alan

Hi Alan! Thanks for your kind message! We don't know if there are plans for paving the road. Have a great day!🙋‍♂️🙋

Great to see your video, I was watching the daily reports on KZfaq about this eruption, posters such as "Bushcraft Bear" (and others) would broadcast and illustrate what it was like to be so close as well as the impact of the lava on the landscape, property and human life. I do look forwards to seeing more of of your reports about the island, it's all happended before but this is the first time in the modern age of media, a great learning curve for everyone. Despite the destruction I understand there was only one fatality, a person clearing ash died (this may have changed, not sure). If this remains the case that alone would a great relief.

Did you help that poor dog? Clearly starving, skin and bones.

Thank you for commenting! Yeah you're right, the animals also suffered a lot from the eruption, it was heart wrenching to see the stray animals there. The dogs in the video are really skinny, but still had an owner who was around the corner. Luckily people (like Fran in the video) work really hard to rebuild the island.

Hi Emma and Luuk - absolutely cracking video guys. It is so refreshing to see something reported factually - without the fear/hype of M$M. I thought both the narrative (I appreciate your English) and the video editing were really classy - so well done. One thing I did find strange was - the reference to high CO2 levels. Surely most of the lava has become inert now and with the sea breezes I would not have thought it an issue. Does it get trapped in buildings? Interested in any understanding you can share. Happy Miles from England

Hey Graham! Wow, thanks for the kind words! Really cheers us up to see that people appreciate the work we put in. Like you said we also thought that the CO2 levels in Puerto Naos were strange for the same reasons. There was a report about it in a local newspaper that stated the levels were too high but those were mostly measured in underground parking facilities. You’d figure that they would just make a smaller perimeter around those if the CO2 got trapped in there. Or find a way to get rid of the trapped CO2. But it’s not our area of expertise so maybe that would be a lot harder than we think. But there are a lot of “conspiracy theories” going around the island about how the government is handling it, and we weren’t there for long enough to really form an honest opinion on any of them. Thanks again for commenting and wishing you all the best for 2023!

@@Skidmate your very welcome - I always appreciate quality. As for the theories - IMHO the EU has been a corrupt Cash Cow since inception. 🙏

There is humanitarian aid, but who is helping the animals? Seeing that starving dog is very distressing!

The music freaks me out. "We will get there ... together". Soon, ALL of us will "get there". These events hardly seem genuinely Natural, at all. Things are not always as they appear, eh. Not at all, girls and boys.

This is awfull. Now you can ride over it, Is it possible for cyclist tot ride over these roads? Or are cyclist not alowed there? I see signs with number 20? Is that the speedlimit?
@Skidmate
@Skidmate Жыл бұрын
Thank you for commenting! Yes it's really awful to see. Don't think we saw cyclists on the road, there were also certain points where you could not stop or exit a car. The speed limit was indeed 20 kilometers an hour. Thanks again, take care!🙋‍♂️🙋
