I have the opposite opinion. I own the James Cameron , Hulk and the no date 14060. I have a large wrist and all 3 fit comfortably and look fantastic. Being tool watches, their reason of manufacturing was purpose built. Rolex's Modus Operandi is to constantly improve their product and this piece takes the Rolex dive watch to the next level. No other Rolex has a 5.5 mm crystal and as you know, creates a wonderful dome effect that no other Rolex can,. It's dial rivals the beauty of the Hulk all the while offering a two tone gradient that no other Rolex has. It's the only Rolex to be honour a scientific exploration. The green DEEPSEA text itself unique to represent the colour of the Deepsea challenger. BTW, James Cameron was the first to make the descent alone. it's the only Rolex dive watch to be made in 2 materials, both steel and titanium. it's construction is also unique. I love this watch for it's aesthetic, it's unique construction and then fact its is the most technical dive watch you can buy. no, your not going to take it down to 12,880 ft but that.s not the point. from a collectors standpoint, the 126660 is a must. it represents what Rolex is all about. Personally, if you love the historical aspect Rolex and their dive watch ethos, you probably understand and respect what this watch represents. And most importantly, if you own one or are thinking of buying one, it looks fantastic on the wrist. I would never sell it. And BTW, this and the Hulk seem to attract the most comments from casual watch lovers. First is always the colour of the dial on both. in the cool light of shade. it's a personal choice and personally, I smile every time it buckle the Cameron up. From a collectors perspective, this piece is a strong hold! When (if) discontinued, this will pay handsomely. LWC, think twice about deep sixing the 126660.

Totally agreed with you. Complaining about the thickness alone without knowing whats history and achivement behind it really not profesional and made me sad watching this review.

I concur, and have the 136660DS, the Hulk, and the 126610LN. My wrist is ~7 3/8". I love them all - and the Deep Sea is not too big on my wrist.

I just got it 2 weeks ago during the Covid-19 period from a premium watch shop and this is my 1st Rolex which I bought for myself and till now I love it so very much. It is very unique compared to all the Submariners that i notice people wearing and I feel it is really me.

It’s a keeper. I just bought mine in December 2019. I love it. It’s one my most complemented watch. My favorite is the dial. The thickness and size, don’t bother me at all. It’s still comfortable to wear.

That’s a perfect way to describe this watch. I picked this up in February 2020 and it is the only Rolex Dive Watch in the collection. Resonates with me how I told myself I won’t need any other variant/model. Cheers!

I started to look at this watch one year ago. The price was a big obstacle. I always said that never I would cross the US$10K mark for a watch. Your video helped me to decide to pull the trigger. I sold my Submariner and my Milgauss Z blue to get it. So far no regrets whatsoever. This one will go nowhere any time soon. 🙂. My wrist can handle the size easily.

Great vid!!! I bought the 126660 and fell in love with it. Suddenly after wearing this watch my 36 mm rolexes seemed under watched. I sold them and this is my one watch collection and I love it. I will say. The 22 mm bracelet makes a big difference from the 1st gen!! This is the Humvee of wrist watches!!

I also have the 126660 James Cameron in my collection. Most people know about the wider bracelet and the new 3235 movement, but one thing most people don't know (including most dealers) is that they made the minutes and seconds hand slightly longer such that they sweep exactly with the indices (vs. the discontinued 116660, which has a slight gap between the tips of the hands and the indices).

@@Shawn-ky2tw I agree, and now I have the 136660 as well. Better lume and an 8% larger date window. They also made the ceramic bezel slightly narrower. They removed the extension clasp, which I think takes away from the serious nature of the watch, though.

@@damachine3 Totally agree! I love the crystal is raised above the bezel slightly. Agree about the clasp. I was planning to take on diving as a hobby, so not sure if the clasp extension will be enough to go over wetsuit, but who knows. The lume on the watch is absolutely next level. I see my watch all night as I wear mine 24/7, that's how much I love the watch. It's a part of me now.

Definitely its one of the most iconic diver's watch of all time. The science behind the escape valve truly seeks my attention but on the other hand I felt that this is crafted more for an occasional purpose for the fact that the weight of the watch does not suits the daily workings and this might be annoying at times. But after all when you look at the collection this watch definitely owns a place. Thanks for the video @londonwatchcollector ❤

Keep it.. granted it’s not an everyday wearer but you’re a hardcore real deal Rolex collector particularly when it comes to steel pieces so it would be strange if that JC deepsea was missing.. the dial alone makes it a keeper but it’s also the biggest meanest looking Rolex out there capable of depths other dive watches can only dream about.. this isn’t just a watch it’s a feat of engineering and should sit proud in your collection imo! Love the channel keep up the good work.

The thick heavy deepsea rolex oyster rezimbles the sub that was used during the dive. An iconic symbol in recognition of an amazing dive in history. Keep it in your collection, it is one of a kind. Every time you wear it, the substantial oyster casing is a resemblance of the incredible vessel every time you put it on your wrist.. THANK YOU for sharing.. There's a story behind every timepiece rolex creates and the deepsea is not tobe left out. It is part of history in the making. Treasure the moment..

Thank you for you great videos and all your comments. I have owned the same watch but I couldn’t keep it in my collection, the weight was too much and I was feeling the pressure on my wrist on my bones, I wasn’t able to wear it on a daily basis. I loved the blue fading to black and I can say that this was the main reason that made me buy the watch. I didn’t want to keep it in my collection something that I wasn’t going to wear. I wish to see the same dial on submariner which that will be a must buy. Thank you and looking forward to seeing your new posts.

I have one (about a year in september) and I absolutely love the dial which is why I will keep mine, however I agree that it can get very heavy and sometimes even get in the way so it's not for everyday...it is a good and tough watch though and has withstood a lot of my watch-abusive behavior. With your collection of watches it might not be as wearable or might even be redundant but it stands out amongst the gmts and subs one usually sees and I appreciate that.

Given your current collection, I understand the challenge around size of this reference, but it looks quite good on your wrist. It will always be a watch that you “occasionally” come back to, but it will never be a staple for you. My recommendation would be: 1) retain it as a watch for occasions or 2) move from your collection and find a better wrist/home for such a beautiful piece.

Great video! I just acquired a Royal Oak Offshore and have been alternating between these two as both are big and thick watches. I do find the ROO to be more comfortable as it is not as top heavy. But the Deepsea looks smaller on my wrist even though it is 44mm vs 42mm. Even though you have many Rolex dive watches, I think you should keep this watch as it is quite different from SD and Hulk. It is much "louder" and tank like even comparing to a SD43. BTW, any intention on getting a ROO? I would love to see a review of ROO from you.

Owning 6 other Omegas already, 4 of them being dive watches, I feel that despite being a beautiful watch, it is really not needed in my collection unless I am collecting for pure display. Therefore, this watch will most probably depart my watch case although when I bought it, I bought it thinking it would be for good and I even ordered the orange matching silicon strap. Well, things change, tastes change, needs change, but change is good.

I understand your decision. You just said it bothers you because of the thikness. When I had mine, I also was in constantly pain as this watch is not only thick but very heavy and presses on certain spots on your wrist, that can seriously inflame it. That was the reason I just had to get rid of mine, eventhough I iced it out completely with even an skull dial and green smaragds in the bezel. Oh well lesson learned on that one.

Don’t see the 50th anniversary see dweller in the first box? Are you still happy with that one? I have this one and although I do not have a large wrist, I love this one because of the thinner lugs and the details in the color.

Too bad. I think the “ombré” dial makes it a keeper. They will not make another with this configuration. I have the JC-1 version of this watch and you have to adjust the bracelet to a tighter fit so the bulk of the case becomes less evident. Just my opinion and looking forward to seeing your next purchase.

I think the James Cameron would be my Rolex watch when I get one. I'm going for a Seamaster next, but want to own a Rolex one day. Holy grail watch is a Nautilus 5711-1A.

Watch Reviews Hi John. I will continue to be you conscience because I am not sure you have one. Did the money get paid back to those who invested in the kickstarter campaign as the page has been taken down. Do you know if the lady had an apology for the racist comments you made according to this website. There is so much more. fionaolearyblog.wordpress.com/2019/01/01/report-youtube-channels-that-promote-racism-hatred-and-abuse-of-women/

Can you do a similar review but for the Sky Dweller? I bought the 126660 earlier this year from the Dealer and still havent worn it. I am seriously thinking about selling it and getting the Blue 326934. It is killing me trying to decide. I love the Deep Sea, but can't have both.

I have been watching for a while, and I could swear in one of your videos you said you were unsure if your were going to keep it because of its size. Am I wrong? Or did you change your mind on how you felt about it? And if so why?

Definitely a great watch for bigger wrists. I’m looking to get one for occasional use when going out. Wouldn’t get one for an everyday watch.
