You should use a wide toothed comb never a brush. Use the comb when you apply the regular conditioner which should get all the tangles out. When you refresh your curls on the days you don't shampoo use a leave in conditioner in a spray form and run your fingers through gently when your hair is wet. Never use a brush to get tangles out or any other reason. Always use a wide toothed comb. And then you can put on alsome curl cream.. put it on your hands like lotion so both slides will have the cream on it. Use two hands to gently pull the cream through and scrunch with slow purposeful movements holding for a few seconds. I just got my hair permed and colored for the first time ever and all the tips were from my stylist. So I'm not trying to be a know it all just passing along some information that might be helpful. And use a microfiber towel which won't break the ends of your hair like a regular towel does.
