Enjoyed the format and LOVED your commentary. It was interesting and covered a variety of topics. It worked out extremely well that you just rode around and said something interesting about the things you were seeing. Variety is always good and Lisboa has lots of it. Alfama is going to give you a workout, if you ever get there (long going up and short going down).

Burbing. I did non know this term. Quite useful in lockdown times as this one for me in Italy. I did it in my small village of 10 a square km and managed to come out with 54 km cycled.

Old cities are so interesting. Diverse and full of boulevards and narrow lanes. Modern art at 9:30 and 11:55, cool. And there were two things that all cyclists "love": runners on bike paths, and cobblestones. Thanks M

I found it very curious that you have visited my neighbourhood, but you actually missed my zone (the North Part), can’t wait to see my street there ahah. Also thanks for showing me parts that I didn’t know and to visit the home ground of my team, Os Belenenses. Just to finish, that statue in Estádio do Restelo was from Pepe, the first Portuguese football idol that was accidentally poisoned by his mother. And I think you were there but didn’t talk about “Beco do Chão Salgado”, that has this peculiar name due to the condemnation and execution of Távora’s family. Cheers!

Pah, esse conceito do burbing parece ser giro, nunca tinha ouvido falar. Muito simples, mas permite conhecer melhor muitas zonas da cidade. E também dá uma bagagem porreira de conhecimento das ruas da cidade, de fazer corar um taxista.

Por causa da quarentena, como tantos outros de nós, ganhei uns quilinhos. Para combater a preguiça eu e um vizinho meu começámos a caminhar no nosso bairro. Ele é estrangeiro e meu vizinho há um ano, portanto pensei em mostrar-lhe a zona. A verdade é que fiquei a perceber que não conhecia aproximadamente metade das ruas, e nunca tinha passado em várias delas apesar de ter morado aqui toda a vida. Foi um pouco como este vídeo, mas a pé, e na Estrela 😄. Espero ver a minha porta num dos teus próximos videos. Gostei imenso de conhecer ruas por onde nunca andei.

Salve,, mais um show de imagens,, sempre gostei das viagens de bicicleta, comecei aos 13a, fui a muitos lugares aqui no estado do Rio de Janeiro, fiz algumas de moto, mas não é a mesma coisa, nem de carro,, De bike vc interage, com o ambiente e as pessoas,, pena que na minha época tinha.os muito pouco recurso para registrar as jornadas,, mas ficou em .minhas memória,,

6:05 Pelo que pesquisei se chama Palácio da Quinta das Águias, por conta dos adornos de águias que enfeitariam algumas colunas da construção. Construído no século XVIII, teve como proprietária dona Fernanda Caroça, falecida em 1987, e posteriormente seus filhos, que na impossibilidade de manter a construção optaram por se desfazerem e desde 1989 ninguém habita o local. Em 1996, o palácio da Quinta das Águias foi classificado como imóvel de interesse público. Oito anos mais tarde, passou a ser patrimônio da Sociedade de Administração Imobiliária Palácio das Águias que o administraria até hoje. Em anos mais recentes algumas propostas de se reformar e transformar o local em um hotel chegaram a ser estuadas, mas por certo não conseguiram tocar o projeto adiante.

Great video. I know Lisbon quite well but I haven’t been there since March 2020 and it was great to see it again. The area you covered I think is mostly flat apart from the northern part. Just wondering how you’ll get on in the really hilly parts of Lisbon. Really looking forward to more videos. Well done, it’s a great project idea.

Maybe you already know . there is a website with Strava connection called WANDRER.EARTH . Wandrer will analyze from your Strava activities every road you already cycled and show you those roads that still have to be cycled by you. And also does leaderboards etc. A Google Chrome extension will help you plan rides on virgin roads etc. Safe rides!
