First of all, great vlog. Very informative. I can only speak from my experience. I had been using Google Drive for a long time, then had a situation where I lost a hard drive. I lost some files that I thought were backed up on Google Drive, but in fact weren't, for some reason. I think I traced the problem to a major revision of Google Drive quite some time ago. What happened was the oldest folders continued to be served well by Google Drive, but folders I created after the major update looked like they were being backed up, but instead, were only on my hard drive. My guess is that this will not be a problem for younger users here. However, for me, this fell into a once bitten twice shy mindset, and I refuse to trust my files to Google Drive for that reason. I am a Windows 10 user, so I like the idea of the tighter linkage to the operating system that OneDrive offers. No need for any interim level software wedged between google and the operating system drivers for the services. And no, I do not work for Microsoft, hehe.

OneDrive offers more performance than Google Drive, I have tested both cloud storage services in terms of downloads, especially downloading folders containing many files or folders containing large files. I think OneDrive is superior to Google Drive in terms of exporting and downloading. The purpose of exporting here is, when we make a request for a OneDrive folder or Google Drive will prepare the file that we request, the two platforms will compress it first and then the download process begins. I rarely encounter problems exporting and downloading using the OneDrive cloud storage service. When I make a request to download a folder, be it a folder containing many files or a folder containing large files. When I requested the folder, OneDrive immediately prepared it for me, it didn't take long and the download process for the folder I requested immediately started. As for Google Drive, more specifically the Google Drive web interface, it is not uncommon for me to encounter problems in the form of slow Google Drive in terms of file preparation (compression process) and the download process. In my experience, I've made a request to download a folder that contains many files, Google Drive takes minutes in the folder compression process or I've even encountered a problem in the form of Google Drive failing to compress the file I requested. Another problem, when I request a folder containing large files whose size exceeds 4 GB, Google Drive immediately compresses it and divides it into two zip files even though I only requested one folder for download.

I've been paying formicrosoft 365 for a few years now monthly. Was wondering if Google one would be a better choice now. I have access to the office apps regardless. Now I'm just unsure. There are features I prefer with onedrive and ones I prefer with Google drive. I am not even a quarter full in my onedrive storage but past 200 so only option with google is 2tb for double the price. But google photos is a hug selling point to me as onedrive doesn't back up my sd card photos and Amazon photos that I also have is just awful. And onedrive has been really slow at uploading files for me. Idk I'm still indecisive.

Hi, i have a question. if if have only 4 account linked to MS365 family plan, and one of the accounts exceeds their 1TB limit, will they allowed to continue or will they be restricted to 1 TB. Hi, is is true that the 6 Tb of the one drive plan are anyway for max 1 Tb for each account? (in other words, one single account cannot use more than 1 Tb). Plus, I have chatted with a microsoft agent and he told that if I first buy the 1 Tb 365 plan (69 €/year) and then upgrade to family plan for 6 Tb, I just need to pay 10 euros more instead of the difference between the 2 plans (on the website, the 6Tb plan costs 99/year)... that sounds really strange to me... My comments and subscription plans are from Europe, as I write from Italy. Thanks for any clarifying comment on this topic :-)

I love google, its snappy, fast and search friendly, but in terms of price comparison, Microsoft 365 is far ahead than google 1. 5 licence of Microsoft office 365, 1 TB times 5 cloud storage, skype 100 mins each for world wide, telephone call credit (except some countries) etc.

I buy personal O365 so I'm leaning towards going with this app for my pictures so I don't have to pay anything extra for photos. Just don't know how easy it is to use and search. If I purchase a 200GB storage for a year, and if that 200GB is not finished for the period, lets say I have used only 50%, am I compelled to buy storage after the period ends? or I can go on till I reach 200 GB, and thereby cancel the auto subscription at the end of the period. Just confused

Excellent, like Google, however, from a business/enterprise perspective, as irritating as Word can be, MS provide a better experience e.g. Word/Excel. That said, Google has my current domain, I use G Drive, however, also use MS Office 365, so that is a wasteful duplication. While Google is really good, I think Office 365 is compelling.

Google Drive files can be accessed offline too. Also, most of these features like backing up are great if you are on Windows, but for Mac or Chromebook users, One drive doesn't have that added advantage.

If your storage plan is canceled or expires Google Drive: You won't be able to sync or upload new files, and syncing between your Google Drive folder and My Drive will stop. You'll still be able to create Google documents since they don't take up any storage space.

I would say that Microsoft Calendar are not Malaysian-friendly type of calendar, because they did not display Malaysia Event & Holiday accurately and wholely, as compared to Google Calendar, it displays everything. But I enjoy and love using both Microsoft G Google regardless. :)

I'm so sorry, but I am totally confused! And, I need to know the basics, such as...are these paid plans with a contract or with no contract and paid on a monthly basis? If I use Google, will I be able to see how many MB are in each of my folders, and how many items are there, so I can confirm that all is backed up from my desktop? In the past, I had to abandon Google, because it was impossible to confirm what has been uploaded to the cloud. All I was able to see was a grand total of how much memory I am using - but I was never sure that all my files were uploaded and included in all my folders. Very very frustrating. Should I not use Google because of these shortcomings? And, I also remember that uploading was incredibly S-L-O-WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWwwwwww

I have MS365 Family plan and I am using 5tb of storage with different accounts. Is it Legal to use all the 1tb storages with your different accounts and end up using 5 or 6 tb storage? One issue I found with onedrive is the upload/download speed is is very slow. I have 75MBPS internet connection with same upload speed but onedirive only use 2 to 3mbps which makes it very very slow if we want to use it as a realtime could storage. Otherwise for backup, it is ok.

M 365 Definitely worth for money

The Google 1 is not that great. With paid Microsoft 365 Personal you get 1 TB of OneDrive storage and 50GB of email for $69 per year. With the Microsoft 365 Family, you get 6 users and each person get 1TB OneDrive and 50GB of email for $99. With both the you get Office online and download. Teams is now taking the place of Skype. Microsoft 365 is better than Google 1.

Google's backup and sync application has some real issues, I must say.
