Thanks for mentioning the crossover part about the wiring. I can confirm Onefinity absolutely hates drag chain conversions. They get really bent out of shape when you don't want to use the "curly", their word not mine, cable. And is 100% the reason they used a crossover cable for the Z and only the Z.

I have a onefinity woodworker with the drag chain setup. I also have the Jtech 7 W laser. Im just confirming they (I ordered mine from onefinity the Jtech laser) included enough cable to go in the drag chain setup. And im confused on the worry about the wire bending? your using drag chains. if the drag chains are working as they should, You should not see no tight bends in the wires. I myself bought the wire extension that onefinity sells (2 cables) pulled the end of each cable made the crosswire (cross the green and the white) and i use that for my Z so i could leave the curly cable alone. So far i have had no issues. P.S . You can get a router power cable and connect it to the router itself no splicing. I would not splice that. open up the router and put on new cable. hehe on the one thing i would not splice you splice and the one thing you say not to splice i splice. thought it was kinda funny.

That is funny! Thanks for the J tech info. You're correct about the bending radius with the drag chain. I just don't know what yield cycle allowance the current cables are so I replaced them with made to bend cables. Really with what we do I think the original ones would be fine. Just figured while I'm at it might as well. But then comes in the router power and J tech cables. And if I'm doing the signal cables for the router why not those others as well. Guess I just need more time and money!

I am reminded of the adage “Don’t fix what ain’t broke”. It’s not clear to me what the problem is you are solving.

The cable management, or the dust collection? I guess why use a CNC when there’s a hand held router? Why use a hand held router when there’s chisels. Why use chisels when there’s (insert primitive tool here). Always keep improving, and making life easier I guess.
