A while back in history, folks in that part of the world were messing with the most powerful military force on earth at that time. They murdered the ambassadors and insultingly sent their bodies back to Genghis Khan without their beards. The great Khan sent Tamerlane (1336-1405) to the region and he reportedly piled the heads as high as the Egyptian pyramids and built huge towers with them. Now again the people of that region (at least their leaders) have forgotten their history and are messing with the most powerful military force on earth once again.
