That Western truck and tractor that everyone referred you to. Said; If you run a calibration on that transmission any problems will be revealed. I thought that very informative.

The 8530 is definitely running quieter and glad your not having any issues with the transmission,just hay that's a little too moist to bale for now.Tomorrow will be another day that you'll do in a different way.

Usually when I split a tractor, I repaint any marks I may have caused, bolt heads etc, only for the simple fact of inhibiting rust. A lot of shops do this, it has nothing to do with hiding anything.

This is the video I've been waiting for, to see what route you took on this. Guessing from 4 gauge's comment you may have done what I could've been tempted to do & ran with it after cleaning the crap out, gonna watch the vid now and see. Hopefully you've had a few hours and not picked up any more crap in the screen. Fingers crossed for ya.

Wes when we had a 994 head on our R450 JD cutter we took the two shields on either side of the header off that packs full of hay and built two small doors with a latch that would allow our arms and hands to fit in which would allow us to remove the built up hay behind those shields, and it worked great for us. Just a recommendation for you being that the built up hay behind those shields could cause a fire

Wess, Check with your Deere dealer, there is a dtac solution talking about the shim material. It comes from the front differential assembly that they used thin shims during set up and when breaks in the thin shims will work out behind the bearing and make it all the way to the trans sump screen. If the shim material is very thin they say to clean it out and is normal. If it is thick it instructs you to re set bearings in front ils assy. They changed the bearing shim set up in the ils diff assy to end play instead of preload now so the the thin shims make no problem with the assy.

Wes, the Western Truck guy gave good advise in the last 8530 video, I didn't quite get a good look at the metal you pulled out but it's not uncommon to find some in the screen, especially if it has never been changed, of course you don't know the full history but you do believe that it has been removed at one point. Also, typically when a mechanical issue that it related to the actual transmission shifting throughout its ranges, you'll either set off a PTI code or will force you to sit and calibrate like you have had happen before. If you get a code like this PTI 523912.05/.13 in the future, it will be a calibration error and a CU speed calibration issue, they are the most common. These IVT's are designed to do frequent active calibrations to both protect itself and also prevent the operator from getting into a uncontrollable situation. They are finicky and easy to set codes, if you don't have any there, that's a good sign really. Also, what do you have the transmission setting at? I found a DTAC (Dealer Technical Assistance Center) case that states the erratic shifting could be caused while accelerating to a high speed, sounds like when you shift into F2 for transport. Maybe try a different mode and see what happens? It's the small knob on the left side of the side panel near the air vent. Complaint or Symptom : IVT transmissions producing an undesired rough shift and undesired engine speed increase over 2200 rpm IVT Mode 2 or 3 while using SCVs with continuous flow setting. Problem or Situation : Issue is a result of ACU setting transmission acceleration request high while fuel economy mode is active and wheel speeds are changing. Issue should not occur in Manual Mode or IVT Mode 1. Solution : Recommend to operate IVT in Manual Mode or Mode 1 setting if experiencing complaint as described above. Have decent experience with these as a JD tech in farm country, central IA, would love to help any way I can!

You can get those head lamps with belt tied battery packs (we're talking about the same type of cells that power your average electric drill for example). I got mine off fleaBay for 30USD (edit to mention that i'm talking about the whole package, light, cables, battery, stuff) and it lasts about 10 hours with a single KREE LED module in continuous use.

Your plungerhead was jammed against a lot of material and would not start up again. The friction clutch between the pto shaft and the flywheel was slipping. I have had this happen, and had to manually release bale chamber pressure to get things started, just like you did. It may have been caused by running the machine in auto bale density mode, with a rusty bale chamber, and not yet a full compacted bale. Krone recommends 750 psi or so of manual bale chamber pressure, until you have made a couple of bales, and then switching over to automatic bale density. Now, I always look at the pto speed readout from the baler terminal, whenever I start up the tractor pto, to make sure that I am not slipping the friction clutch on the baler flywheel. I do not have the hydraulic start assist on my smaller baler, so I do not know if that would force the flywheel to turn or not.

I always cut my first bale before it is out of the chamber, that way it spreads itself out as it falls off the back and is easier to re- bale. Hopefully this could be a useful tip for you or someone else.

My little 1025r sub compact tractor at the 50 hour service required by John Deer had a bunch of metal shavings in the transmission and they said that was normal. However it is now been in their shop for 4 weeks with transmission failures one month before the end of warranty. So it was close. But I wished I had my tractor back so I can mow my grass. I may have to use the brush hog to mow the yard. Lol

Yep, watched the video now. Knowing what you know about the previous work on the tractor & possible QC cleaning issues at the factory I'd have done the same thing. FWIW I think you should be fine as there was way too much material there for the thing to operate perfectly some of the time but not others if it was from a pending failure. The whining sound being quietened down from when you got the tractor too suggests that most of the crap has always been there & it just got too much of a pressure drop over time.

That screen being plugged would cause the shifting problems. As it was restricting the suction side of the pump. The whine was also caused by the plugged screen. Hopefully cavitation in the system didn't cause any other damage. It's a wonder the transmission and or hydraulics weren't running hot.

Lot of times when breakin period there’s metal in the trans pan on a truck or car prob tractor to. The gears have to seat themselves and wear off some metal. Plymouth cars used to have a magnet in the trans pan to catch the shavings.

The 8030 Series were the first with IVT Transmissions and they sure had its Problems. Here in Germany you would have a hard time trying to sell it because nobody(including east european people)wants to buy an 8030 with ivt. With the 16 Speed Powershift otoh, you can sell it immediately and for a much higher Price. Sure, the ivt fits better to the baler, but then maybe a used claas xerion is the better choice. The older ones even had cat engines in it.
@payne2086
@payne2086 6 жыл бұрын
In America it was the late model 8020 series with IVT, though very rare they can be occasionally found on websites like tractorhouse etc. Either way I would presume that deere at the manufacturing date of that tractor had not perfected the IVT transmission. Even today I am skeptical as there are not many newer tractors with around 8k hours on them that I know of. I have no idea how these transmissions will perform in their later years of labor.
@frank.s74
@frank.s74 6 жыл бұрын
Their own ivt in the 7 and 8 series still has 3 Ranges only, so its Performance is quite a bit behind a Tractor with an european ivt. I've driven a 7280r ivt , it is just a nightmare for transport work uphill, "my" 7250r e23 performs better.Back in the days we had one 7810ivt and one Autoquad and they only performed about the same at heavy tillage work.

It looks like the inside tread blocks of the front tires of the 8530 are significantly more worn down than the outside blocks. Is this a trick of the camera or if not, what may have caused that? I went back over it and it seems like both sides are roughly equal, maybe half and inch or so block height difference. I also just noticed that its independent front suspension, that tells me it might be camber change with ride height change, though im not sure why the front of this tractor would be sitting low to cause the negative camber to wear the tires like that. Im curious.

The jd 8120 has run the Krone BP1290 HDP baler in the past years. The jd 7530 has 180 hp or so, but it is out of its weight class pulling the baler. It would be unsafe on hilly fields, and stuck in softer fields. Also would have to limit road speed, because this baler is not equipped with brakes.

Hi Wesley, I hope I spelled your name right. I watch your channel each day like clock work, and I recommend allot of my subscribers to watch your channel. Allot of them are homesteaders and they like your channel. I am a very small KZfaqr myself. But I have a question. Why in this video, you are having problems bailing because the hay is to tough to bail, when now after watching your videos after building and remodeling the Hesston baler, you show bailing just about anything with no problem. And now I have been watching you bailing corn platter and you would think that would be a night mare. How do you seem to make that happen? I think you need to do a video and explain what you had to do to get the Krone Baler to be able to bail all that crap. And I all so watched you bail many times very wet hay on other videos. So how and the heck did you force the computer to allow you to accomplish that? I think that would make a cool video. Some of us out here don't know jack about a bailer as big as the one you own, so it would be nice to know how you walked around and made this bailer do what it does. To me, watching your channel, you are a genius. You are my first channel I go to every day to watch. I love it when you talked about youtube telling you in your email the new rules. I pasted that on to my subscribers, and many had watched it. I want to thank you so much for entertaining me each and every day. But there is one thing I wish you would not do. It seems like allot of your videos, you cut them short and leave us hang at the end, you could at least do a outro and say goodby. I really hope you do a video on this, because it would be nice to know how all of a sudden you can bail wet hay with no problem at all. Thanks Wesley, I hope you read this comment. If you read this, let me know. You are my favorite Channel, and I mean that. Take it easy and please keep making all these great videos, I love the ones you do on Trump. To me, I think he is the best thing that ever happened to this country. Them Demorats can go fu----ck them self. Say hi to Teresa, I see she did not want to be on film in this one, but now she appears in some of the videos. You sure have a beautiful wife. Well, I guess this comment is much to long, I hope you read it. Thank you, and your family for all the fine work, and please don't quit KZfaq or gobble my balls LOL. I always give you the thumbs up, but I don't comment because you are so big, and you can't possibly read all them comments. You must have thousands, how do you keep up?

The fun of not knowing what might be wrong with that tractor until it blows up. even if it was fixed that stuff probably shouldn't be in there if it's from one compartment, they never cleaned it out right . To be honest if Deere left that $#!t in there when they made it, I'd be mega mad at the price that tractor cost for " good quality". People laugh at the Russian Belarus tractors but out of all the new ones I service when we sold them, I never had scrap like that come out of the transmissions from machining. Yeah if something went wrong in it's life you got chunks that was usually gear teeth or bearings, but it wasn't a $35.000 fix. For that money back then you could throw it away and buy another new one for less L.O.L. Man I 'm not into praying but you need one for that tractor. Good luck Amen .
