Hi..In my last eMTB build video i converted the £100 GIANT eREVEL 2nd hand MTB & took it for a test ride..So this week on Bank Holiday Monday (May) i started fitting the PAS & yesterday (30th May) took it for a test ride BUT the PAS wouldnt work?Is it a setting as it reads the speed when you pedal (on the bike stand) - Any advice welcome as im stuck !!!
Its been a learning curve from starting in Dec 2O19 so join me on more builds/rides & consider subscribing to follow me on a journey into the world of DIY electric mountain bikes & who knows where this will lead ? As electric transport is the future !!

UPDATE 2nd June 2O2O** If you read the comments i say i scrapped the GIANT eREVEL & fitted the Voilamart wheel on my Mate X !! Well today ive stripped the Voilamart wheel off the mate X as it wasnt SAFE !! And ive rebuilt the GIANT eREVEL even better - Ive fixed the wobble on the forks/Ive fitted a 2.2 front tyre/Ive soldered & sealed the needed wires & ive got a much neater finish all together..I took it for a ride at 9:45pm & got 30mph+ twice heres the vid - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/o8typtyCvaqWhaM.html

Good build same thing happened to me I fitted pedal assist didn’t work,luckily the vendor who sold it to me was local,I took it there he messed with the display on the menu and changed the assist levels to 9 pas levels ,then it started to work ,you display is different to mine I have sw900 ,but if your look on KZfaq for your display type try changing the pedal assist values it might work,on KZfaq channel Augustine ebikes tells you how to do this

Hi - Ive just been messing with the settings as Augustine eBikes video says & put the PAS to 9 & also some other stuff BUT nothing so just fitted a spare PAS sensor i had - The glues drying so i'll let you know how it goes - Bit gutted spent all week on this !!! OneMan OneDog also try moving the magnet closer or the other way around with magnets inward ,good luck man

Hi singh s - Ive tried everything & no luck so just stripped all the electrics off & rebuilt it as a MTB so i can sell it !! BUT ive got a plan #MutantMateX !!!!!! Cheers

OneMan OneDog I know how you feel gutted it’s not working my bike was like that for 2 weeks until I took it to vendor who sorted it,out if curiosity do you think if you put a voltmeter on resistance across the pas plug then pass a magnet over sensor near crank if it shows a change in numbers that means it working ,you get what I mean then you know the problem is with the display settings, iam crap with electrics , just an idea

singh s - Ive gave up on it i need the money so selling it just as a MTB & im fitting the 1000w on mate X forks !! Might look a oddity but least it'll work #MutantX

Sorry it was not working for you 1500w kit PAS did not fit the Trek Foel 90 Crank shaft so i mounted it on the front wheel and extended the wires.After adjusting the settings on the display both PAS systems i tried would not work either.After wasting too much time I use thumb throttle and with a 9 speed cassette i prefer it that the cheaper 1000w kit like yours but not Voilamart brand PAS works perfect go figure.Too bad it has the freewheel instead of the cassette😏makes a big difference.

Hi Peter - I tried all yesterday but no luck !! So ive stripped this eMTB its now just a MTB which im going to sell !! The 1000w wheel has been put on my Mate X & i took it a ride yesterday OMG !! Im just rendering the video - Cheers

Hi Peter - today ive rebuilt the Giant eRevel - No PAS but gonna make do throttle+pedalling..Just been a test ride & got 30mph+ twice !!!

@@paulleeFLOW Thanks for making these vids I just ordered the same kit, I couldn't find any good recommendations on batteries so I ordered a 48v 20ah....I hope I didn't get screwed it was twice the price of the kit...

@@paulleeFLOW that's bad ass man it looks like it was factory made that way. have you researched the gear drive hubs? from what I've read they have better low end torque but lower top speed.

Cheers mate - Yeah mid-drive?yes more torque & im mean loads if you look at the .Tn BUT saying that they are double or triple the price of a hub motor...!!!
