Looking at the Samsung fold and the OnePlus, as much as i like my S22ultra and all the things it does well. I like the screen format and sizing of the OnePlus so much better I’d drop a dime on it. As it is more usable in the closed position, which tbh is how most would use the phone 70% of the time. The option to have a larger screen when needed is an attractive option. My only worry is durability of all the folding phone, but it looks like OnePlus is addressing that with the tighter fit of the screen when folded.

To this day I miss the front facing stereo speakers that were on my Nexus 6p. Was the only compromise when I switched to a OnePlus 6 like 5.5 years ago. Still rocking it today.

I like that and how it’s almost the same thickness as an iPhone. The black looks the best to me and that screen is amazing. It’s reminding me of the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy device.

I've had Oneplus phones for almost 8 years now and I almost pulled the trigger on getting a new Fold 5, as I wanted to get into the foldable phone experience. I then found out that Oneplus was creating their first ever foldable phone and leaks were positive about it. I'm glad I waited, even though they delayed the release date from August to October. I'm definently getting a Oneplus open after watching the full reviews against the Fold 5

I've got a 7, I've been wanting a foldable for a long time and this looks really nice, obviously too expensive for me right now, maybe in a few years when the price comes down I'll consider it, but if I were to get a foldable right now looks like I'd get a Z Fold3, it's at the price I want but this phone has a lot of improvements over that that I really want, like a bigger front screen and a proper close (no dust getting in there and scratching the screen). My OP7 is still in really good nick though, so I could hold off and wait.

I tested out the Zfold 3 a couple years ago and overally I really enjoyed the time I had with it. It definitely whet my appetite for an eventual long-term foray into the foldable device world. The Pixel Fold was also very tempting, but ultimately, I opted to skip the foldable phone for another year, and purchased the Pixel 8 Pro. No regrets there, its a great device! Maybe next year I'll go for the Open2!

I have just bought a Galaxy Z Fold 5 and i am truly impressed with the device. Even though i must admit watching this new model its making me question myself a little lol I just think the outside display is better on the oneplus, which is the only thing that making me jealous but lets don't forget oneplus have only IPX4 while samsung is IPX8 which means water resistant up to 1.5mt 30mins. I think in terms of durability means a lot ..! Nice phone though!

2 years with my Samsung fold 3 the durability is staggeringly good as long as you have hinge protection cases. Software has been top shelf. A great follow-up to my Note 9 that cake walked 3 years of heavy use and is now powering my Dex desktop on a 15 inch OLED flat panel display. I'm open to trying a One Plus or Nothing but without durability and something to rival Dex it's a harder sell when the price point demands all check boxes marked.

Only difference is software, colorOS for oppo and OxygenFoldOS for OnePlus. Pretty sure bands are different too since they're releasing for specific continents

It would make better sense for any slider switch to be either at the bottom/top of any device to prevent any accidental mishaps.

Yeah, slider switches should definitely be on the top, just like the old slider switches they had in the old old days of the iPods that had slider switches on the top of them.

Only thing missing is s pen, which i do use on my Note. I had a 6T and moved on when it started behaving badly. I wanted a samsung fold but disliked much about it. This looks nice.
