I guess it just depends what that means by "beaten". I agree, as a OnePlus Open owner, that this is superior in most ways compared to the Fold 4 I was using. However Samsung (in the USA) sells to all carriers, big box stores, and has name prowess. Oneplus... Not so much. You can't buy the Open at a carrier, they aren't advertised nearly as much and don't have much presence besides the enthusiast market.

Justin Bieber used the be the biggest music seller, it does not mean he was the best musician. So yes Samsung as been beaten because out of the all the foldables in the market right now, theirs is the weakest. And I'm saying this as a Fold 4 user (also owned a Fold 2 and 3). I skipped the Fold 5 this year and will do so next year if Samsung keeps being lazy. Those new devices were a disgrace. I was a sheep for 3 years and bought the same devices 3 times. I like the fact that the inner display has a more rectangular aspect ratio because otherwise you end up watching content that is so close to the same size as watching on outer screen that it really doesn't make any difference. And I spent a couple years listening to people tell me how bad the outer screen is that I honestly thought it would be something I would just have to tolerate to have a foldable with OneUI. Turns out that I really like it. I have something going on with my hands so they're in pretty constant pain and so having the narrow cover screen make it a lot easier and less painful for me to type. 🤷

I bought the fold 3 and tried using that for a while and I found the outside screen was a deal breaker for me. No app was optimized for the outside or inside, so it was just impossible to use certain apps. However, I'm glad some people do like it! I feel like that's the nice thing about the Google, OnePlus, and Samsung. Samsung is tall and narrow, Google is short and squat, and OnePlus splits the difference: everyone gets their own personal preference.

this is the 3rd Gen of the Oneplus Open technically and OPPO are way ahead of Samsung. the Open has pen support on both screens mate not just the inner screen like the fold 5.... as far as value, are you mad? you can get a z fold 5 for 1k bow... that is 45% depreciation... OnePlus are nowhere near less than $1200. i respect all opinions but there has to be an element of fact to what you type. Cheers

( sounds like you're defending the one plus from a direct attack lol, i never criticized the phone or say that device is not worth it) I should have been more specific, when i meant value i was referring to if you were to trade the phone for lets say a better version of the fold, like the upcoming fold 6. Samsung usually offer 1K for previous fold version, which i don't think they would offer that for the one plus. Also for average consumer it would be more likely that people would buy the Samsung over a one plus device if were to sell the phone, those are facts. Yeah the one plus open offers pen support, but does it have the neat features the s-pen offers? It doesn't have wireless charging, which for me is a big deal since i have a lot of wireless chargers around, i can also turn the fold into a mini computer with Dex! Does oneplus offer something like that? Again i'm not bashing one plus all i was saying is that i was on the fence and i end up getting the fold 5 because of the extra features it offers over the one plus. Software wise is superior, hardware wise one plus is better, but when it comes down to the inner displays there's nothing special from one to the other one! Tell that to the Postman. The ring app notified me 2 mins after he rang the doorbell despite turning battery optimisations off for every app. I've owned nearly every OP device including the T series starting from the OP1 bar the 8 9 and 10 so I'm pretty much well versed in the nuances of OxygenOS. It's well known that OxygenOS has a delay notification issue and is documented in the killmyapp website and OP community forums. Still doesn't excuse the poor haptics though does it?
