One of the best things Better Call Saul has given us is a great cast of brand new characters. Including Chuck, Kim, Howard, Lalo, Nacho and even some of the smaller characters like Sobchak, Dr. Caldera, Werner, and the list goes on. But, what’s really impressive is that these characters aren’t just great because they’re fun or interesting but each also serves a particular role.
Every character contributes to the show's plot and themes in a way that feels necessary to the vision of Peter Gould, Vince Gilligan, and the rest of the writers.
Nacho was initially a background supporting character but overtime, he’s been given more development, screen-time, and overall importance. In this video, we discuss why exactly that is… What does the Nacho Varga character contribute to the show and why is he necessary for the story they’re telling?

This is also basically my prediction too. Also, noticed that a recurring theme for Mike is that there's always someone important in the way whenever he tries to snipe someone (Nacho with Hector, Kim with Lalo), so in Season 6, maybe Nacho sacrifices himself to have Lalo in a trap, and Mike shoots through Nacho to get Lalo

@@wanderingnomad1 idk about son. He just sympathizes with Nacho. My theory is Mike is the one to pull the trigger on Nacho. Ordered by Gus. I think Mike does hate Gus throughout breaking bad. But knows Gus could kill Kaylee and Stacey in a second if he has a single hint of betrayal. Which is why he punched Walt in the bar. Because just even thinking of betraying Gus would jeopardize everyone, including their loved ones. So I think Mike is actually in pain in Breaking Bad. Because of Werner and Nacho death. I hope Nacho makes it out safe. But that would be lazy writing. I think the right kind of tragedy will strike Nacho to make it a necessary bridge to breaking bad. In Breakin Bad Gus Fring is the top man and Salamanca is living in a shed somewhere. My guess is that Don Elario will have Lalo executed as a token of peace to Gus Fring and as a warning to the other Salamancas not to mess with Gus because he is the big earner. Since Nacho is of no use to Gus after that he will either have him killed, or he has moved up the ranks in Don Elario empire as a spy for Gus. I think that the Salamancas that know that Nacho has double crossed them are dead anyway.

Oooh I like this. Nacho being forced to continue working for the cartel even when he doesnt want to just to keep his father safe.

Gus will have to frame Lalo or some shit to get the cartel to trust him again and think he was acting in there interests because Bolsa still trusts Gus in breaking bad until Gus has him killed. Maybe Nacho helps Gus out of the lalo situation and wins Gus's favor. Mike, Nacho and Gus take down Lalo but Nacho somehow dies anyway and Gus rcognises his loyalty. Which is why Gus is less ruthless in breaking bad and fully trusts Mike because Mike was right about Nacho and this is why Gus tries to recruit Jesse rather than kill him.

Thank you! Same. Even logistically, I'm curious how much of Breaking Bad we'll see... and how will they get us to Gene. I'm hoping for an epic montage that goes from end of BCS through Breaking Bad and into the Gene timeline.

It's really interesting watching this and Breaking Bad, because it's both fascinating and terrifying knowing how close I came to a world like this. I'm a recovering heroin addict (I've been clean over four years now) and it probably isn't surprising to hear that heroin seems to be linked with meth, in that every dealer I've ever met who sells heroin also sells meth, and a LOT of the heroin addicts I've met have also done/been addicted to meth. It's astounding just how fucking accurate these two shows are, the way that this world slowly chips away at your morals and sense of right and wrong slowly, ultimately luring you down this dark path that can change your life forever, I know how lucky I am to have escaped, and I know how easy it is to get sucked in even further. I was extremely fortunate to have people in my life who have been through similar things and recognized the signs early on, because without their help, I honestly don't know where I would be today. Honestly, if I was LUCKY, probably dead. It just makes this show and the characters more real to me, it makes the desire for them to escape for me even more intense. Because I know that once they cross a certain threshold, escape isn't really a realistic goal. On the off chance that someone who's struggling with addiction sees this comment: please heed my advice and seek help right now. I know how terrifying this world is, I know how hard it is to seek help, but I promise you that waiting never helps. The longer you wait, the more deeply you become entrenched in this world, the more people you meet, and the more you become a liability. It might feel hopeless, especially for drugs like heroin -- I promise you, no matter what the drug, you can get clean. If it's heroin, don't overlook treatments like suboxone. Yes, I know the stigma that's attached to it, I know the loathing people have for it, but let me explain it like this: suboxone and similar treatments have a benefit that no other treatment does: the ability to get your life back on track before the worst of it. I can't explain just how important daily routines are to getting sober. Things like brushing your teeth, showering, doing laundry and wearing clean clothes, cooking for yourself, (eventually) going to work, having a consistent sleep schedule -- all of these are important to being healthy and happy, and using treatments like suboxone give you the benefit of being able to re-establish those while also avoiding any chance of relapse by making it damn near impossible to get high. The happier your life, the easier it's going to be to get through the withdrawals., and the more likely your sobriety will last. Please just know that no matter how far down "bad choice road" you are, you have a chance to get clean and live a happy, productive life. Yes, the longer you live this life, the harder it's going to be, but that doesn't mean that once you reach a certain point, it's impossible. If you want to lead a happy, normal life, you can do it. You just need to commit to it.
