Onewe's main vocalist is in another league- His voice and stage presence is top tier. I recommend their ballads that REALLY showcases his vocals (A Book in Memory, Star, Universe). They are also MAIN producers and writers for almost all their songs (not just participated in a bit of the lyrics like some idols). Almost all their songs are written by Cya, Kanghyun and Yonghoon. They each have their own style in composing: Cya's songs are more experimental and hard rock (Veronica, End Of Spring, Trauma). Kanghyun's songs are 'spacey' with complex instrumentals (Parting, Aurora, Regulus). Yonghoon's are mostly heartwrenching ballads (A Book in Memory, Universe) but recently he also wrote some rock songs (Gravity, Hippie). Sometimes their styles overlap, such as Yonghoon's Star also having a space theme but is still a soft rock ballad. Harin and Dongmyeong each wrote a song in their Voyager album but it's too early to determine their individual composing style. ONEWE has a lot of space theme songs, ranging from hard rock to soft ballads. e.g. Regulus, Parting, Aurora, Cosmos, Star, Universe, Envision, Orbit Yonghoon’s voice is stunning and perfect for these ethereal and mysterious concepts.

The running joke with Weves (fandom name) is that every time they perform it rains. Onewe is my ult group, I love Kband (the member you were arguing about his age is Dongmyeong who was born in 2000, he also has a twin in the brother group, Oneus). I am still here at the end. Onewe write all their own music most all the songs are written by the guitarist Kanghyun, Lead vocalist, Yonghoon (my ult of ults), and basist Giuk. Drummer is Harin. Self formed band that ended up signing with RBW. I recomend their song Universe or maybe the one everyone loves, AuRoRa

Onewe is great. I love them so much. They are criminally underrated. Onewe was self formed and they write their own music. They are amazing. I hope you react to more of their music. They keyboardist and bassist are the youngest members. Both were born in 2000. The oldest member is the main vocalist who was born in 1994.

ONEWE! They just released a new song, called "Beautiful Ashes"! It's their first song since their enlistment-induced hiatus (The vocalist, Yonghoon, had to enlist and the guitarist Kanghyun went along and enlisted shortly after him to get it over with - he'd long since decided that he'd enlist around the same time as Yonghoon.) ONEWE's debut song is "Reminisce About All", a ballad, but a lot of fans joined around "Regulus" (Written by Kanghyun, based on "The Little Prince".) All members of ONEWE have written songs, though the main ones are: Kanghyun (Guitarist), Yonghoon (Main Vocal), and Giuk (Formerly known as Cya, the Bassist). They all have distinct styles and fans can generally tell who wrote each song. Kanghyun is the writer of RtB! It started as the joke between fans and ONEWE where every performance they hold gets rained on, and so he took that and turned it to a story about two people. Other great pieces written by him are: "COSMOS" (My Queen!), "Regulus", "Parting", and "AuRoRa"! Some great songs written by Yonghoon: "Reminisce About All", "A Book in Memory", "Universe_", "Star", and the most recent release, "Beautiful Ashes"! Onewe is awesome! Yes, they write most of their music, including this one. Agree with Simon's observation about RtB. Good catch with the acoustic sound when Kanghyun is playing eletric in the MV😂 In live performances is mostly eletric. Yonghoon really suits the folk type of song (9:56). If you ever decide to revisit Onewe, Kerry will see she's right, especially in two songs: Cosmos and Orbit_. I'll not gush too much, but Yonghoon has my favorite male voice in all k-pop.

You're so accurate about their age lmaoooo The lead singer was in late 20s back then, guitarist and drummer in their mid 20s, keyboardist and bassist was in their early 20s. BUT they've been together and started performing (busking to be exact) since teenage they are actually veterans in the field. They were in their 3rd year after redebut as ONEWE when they release this song. (They were previously known as M.A.S.0094 or MAS, and had released some songs) By the way they're coming back with a new mini album next month I hope you'll check them out!

There is a making video, the twin of one of the members comes and brings pizza and chicken and they are all freezing in towels.

They are a self-formed band that then signed with RBW. Their debut as Onewe with RBW was in 2019, but they originally debuted as MAS0094 in 2015 so you can find videos of Dongmyeong and Giuk performing at 15YO. MAS stands for make a sound, and 0094 refers to the youngest being born in 2000 and the oldest in 1994. They have performed as Mamamoo's backup band starting even before they signed with RBW. They are the brother band to Oneus, also at RBW. Dongmyeon has a fraternal twin brother in Oneus who's stage name is Xion. The groups trained together and debuted/re-debuted within a couple of months of each other.

Onewe was formed by all members were already a band who performed in contest except for Yonghoon (main vocal) who was in the same contest and if im not wrong actually won so they asked if he wanted to join their band! And they were predebut with manager Dongju aka Xion of Oneus (their brother group and twin of Dongmyeong the other vocalists and keytar player) until they joined and signed with RBW

Cool choice by your patreon. Onewe is one of my favorite krock bands. Onewe: One We. Label mates of boy group Oneus: One Us. I stayed til the end so I'm the One of We as well as the One of Us. Poor Dongmeong. He was 21 when the MV was made. Must have been the rain soaked, slicked back hair, overcast lighting and makeup that made him looker older. Correct, Rain To Be was not their debut track. Onewe debuted in 2019 with a ballad called Reminisce About All, which is a better song imho. Agree that the mix was a bit too polished and didn't really match the tone of the MV. In general my only quibble with Onewe's recordings is they tend to have a slick pop rock production style even when the song goes much harder, but that's a minor complaint about a terrific band that I consider the best kept musical secret in Korea. There are several layers of guitars in this song but the electric guitar is buried in the mix except for the solo of course. Rain To Be was written by guitarist Kanghyun and bassist Giuk who at that time was going by Cya (pronounced Kia). To answer your question about Mamamoo one obvious similarity is the top tier vocals, which you can expect with all groups under RBW. For a small company RBW has a disproportionately high percentage of the best M&F singers among 3rd & 4th gen groups. Moomoos first encountered Onewe when they backed up MMM on a rock version of Decalcomanie at the 2016 KBS Song Festival. At that time Onewe was known as MAS or MAS 0094 and weren't signed to a label. About a year later they signed with RBW and then changed their name to Onewe when they debuted in 2019 shortly after Oneus. Since then they've backed up MMM on a rock version of Gogobebe at an award show, backed up Hwasa on a Queen medley, Kanghyun played acoustic guitar for Solar on a competition tv show, they released a song called Q with Hwasa as the featured guest artist, and recorded a song called Memories with Moonbyul on her latest album Starlit of Muse. Onewe has also done killer covers of Hwasa's Twit and Mamamoo's Hip, which you can find on their yt channel. So yeah, they're friends with Mamamoo and work with them from time to time.
