My wife surprised me with a One Wheel GT for my 70th Birthday!!! A first for me as I've never rode a skateboard before... but what the heck.. Why should you young folks have all the fun?

Awesome! My dad picked it up faster than I did. Let the board do the work. Gear up and have fun out there.

You are doing the hardest thing first by getting on and barely moving. I have a GT. My first board.I am 65 years old. I Got over confident in my first days of riding. Fell off at 20 mph on a smooth asphalt road. Hit a little depression in the road and got the wobbles. I luckily didn't break any bones.The GT tire is more rounded than the other boards so it may be more susceptible to the wobbles. 4 months and 300 miles in now and I love it. Wear a helmet and wrist guards at minimum.

Absolutely! Once I got rolling it got much better. Glad you’re okay. I can’t wait for other tire options to come out. Thanks for commenting.

if you find your board a bit unstable you kight wanna lower the psi a little
@lrc87290
@lrc87290 2 жыл бұрын
@@LuCkiiEsZz I definitely think that would help but been putting it off thinking it would hurt my mileage. The ride is definitely hard and I don't need that mileage so I think I'm going to drop it a few psi. Thanks

You're only getting the wobbles because you're new. I got the wobbles on my XR when I first started writing as well and that has the most flat square tire of all time. With practice that will go away completely.

It felt like it directly bound to my brain and feels like im not even controlling it.. I swear! Its like majic. I used to count the hours at work until i got home. Now im at work counting the hours until i can get back on my one wheel!

I wouldn't turn off simple stop... easiest way to get off as a beginner ive found when letting people ride mine, takes the failed two foot jump off out of play more often which lot of people aren't good at for some reason, also as a beginner you shouldn't really be going both directions, no reason to try that, in my opinion, pick your forward direction and stay moving, I don't go reverse direction ever even now as a higher skill rider..

Great point! I just didn’t like it shutting off while learning to balance. I might turn it back on at some point. Thanks commenting!

I have a fast charger and I have a very specific bag that I purchased from chrome that fits the fast charger in there. My phone wallet and I can fit a light jacket in there also. And it's still super compact

Simplestop works for me. Once you get used to it you can finally dismount and look like you know what you're doing.. You just can't ride switch, which most beginners won't be doing anyways. Now, after seven hundred miles on a OG Pint and two hundred miles on my GT, Simplestop may be a crutch. Likely going to disable Simplestop soon. Do not waffle around once the board activates, level out and just go. Simplestop really is the easiest way to dismount for new riders, but it must be learned.

No need to return for clicking . I had the same issue but when the tire is new. There are a bunch of little rubber tips sticking out of them. After a few miles they break in.

@@DillonDeluca so much fun. Not too difficult to get into. I am 33 now and it's been over a decade since I've skateboarded so I had to take breaks for my feet. Put like 14 miles on today though.

@@cn_x_tr that’s definitely one of the main reasons I wanted to make this video. I think the Onewheel looks a little intimidating for most. Everyone who I have taught picked it up really quick. Glad you’re getting out there!

So, I haven't even unboxed my GT yet and I got it just after Christmas so basically 2023 Jan 1 I guess...but, I have been worried about dust and water...do you not have to worry about dust getting in the motor(s) and water as well? Jeff a sub BTW, the reason I haven't opened it yet is because I am in Utah and we had record snowfall this season so haven't been able to take it out yet. Now we are in the high 70's and low 80's so its time to take the plunge!!!!
@DillonDeluca
@DillonDeluca Жыл бұрын
Hey Jeff! There are ways to make the board more dust and water proof. After I posted this video I installed some bearing seals and did the Badger waterproof kit. Keep in mind this is a toy! I’m a huge advocate for taking care of your stuff but try not to let that get in the way of your fun. These boards are tough. Get out there and scratch it up :) can’t wait for you to ride it! Let me know how it goes!
