Another awesome video, Jimmy! I just started using my Pint for the ~1 mile daily trek from my apartment to BART in Oakland. The roads and sidewalks tend to be terrible in Oakland, which makes the OneWheel the ideal choice in my mind. Lots of great tips in here to help me stay safe on the commute - thank you!

Great tips Jimmy. My “heel up” move is partly to signal to drivers and pedestrians that I’m in control of the board. 👍🏼👍🏼 also, 7:22 bro how did you not shred that spot haha. That’s a sick rideable feature you completely missed.

Great video! You Float right through my work neighborhood (Pioneer Square). I ride my Pint from the train station (King Street) to my building and back and it can be... interesting. Thanks for all the great tips!

Here in Lyon, France, I've jsut discovered EUC. I'm riding a V8F. - People look at me, I smile back at them. - People ask me how it work If they can, I take 5 minutes to let them climb on the wheel with me holding their hand. - Ask people politely to side away when they don't see me coming and thank them for doing so. - Thank Drivers when they stop to let me cross the road. - Wave to other Wheelers. - Never Hold when a pushback occurs like yesterday when I hit my first one.

It was funny because last year in 6th grade I took a school trip to China town in Seattle (I live about an hour south of Seattle) and I was at that exact park at 1:03 with the giant chess.

Hi Jimmy, at 1:25 you are discussing how more more people are using electric vehicles as a last-mile solution, there is a cop writing out a parking ticket for a car. Either it was a huge coincidence, or you paid an actor to write out that ticket. LOL. It definitely made a great point about your Pint. Great video, keep them coming. I am a new pint owner and your videos taught me a lot as I was waiting for the Pint to arrive.

Good work and Some good tips... keeping an eye on the ground a few feet in front of you while riding in the city is also huge (potholes, bottles and wet cardboard all suck if you hit them unexpectedly)

I’m about an hour north of Seattle, near Mount Vernon. I really have to get down to Seattle with my onewheel. If you live in Seattle jimmy we might ride together sometime. I’m sandboxvet on the onewheel app.

I used to chase pigeons at that pagoda at 1 minute in, when I was a little kid. My family and i would get dim sum and then Id try to catch pigeons. Ride down memory lane right there!

Great tips Jimmy! Seattle is such a beautiful city. I have seen quite a few Onewheels tooting around San Francisco. Most of them have been XRs. I always use one of my electric scooters as my last mile solution. I like the range and ability to keep up with most city traffic as the primary reason I prefer it over the Onewheel. I will likely be picking up a hyper scooter soon as they have come down to the weight and price point I can justify for a commuter vehicle. My last mile commute is 16 miles to bridge work and home via a train. I don't find the Onewheel particularly good at that despite good riding skills now. I have taken the Onewheel a few times on the commute and 16 miles is something I don't feel like doing regularly on a Onewheel.

How about an EUC? My favorite for long commutes.

@@freshlycharged I would consider it but I want a hyper scooter before an EUC. The scooter I plan on getting soon can sustain 40mph safely.

@@freshlycharged With a Onewheel or an EUC a bad crash is pretty much inevitable. I have many thousands of miles on a scooter without any crashes. There is just much greater stability at speed with a scooter.

Agree (4:20) with 'lunging dogs'! I noticed that the 'chase instinct' often kicks in for some dogs when they see a OneWheel-er. Got bitten over the summer while on vacation because some guy had his two dogs off leash in public. If you see a dog and he's off least (which he shouldn't be in most places)....be EXTRA careful...just a pro tip from a guy who got bit! 🤨

Hey I'm driving up to Seattle to buy a used Onewheel Tomorrow! It's a v1 unfortunately but I'm going to battery swap it to 14S li-ion 235Wh or 470Wh so it will have much more range than a XR. Still all for less than the price of the pint. Hopefully the lower torque isn't too bad.

@@truesenpai9845 nope actually $400 cash for a 2 year old v1 with a broken battery. It was on offer up. I'm probably going to to buy $150 in cells and put a 14S2P of Samsung 30T 21700 58.8v max vs the 58.4v max of the old battery. I'll need a blow molded enclosure I can buy from someone on the esk8.news forum.

I used to work at the building you see 1/2 way up that hill on the right at the 9:41 mark. (Holland America.) I struggle with the many hills here in Seattle on my pint even in Elevated mode. Curious, did you make it all the way up that hill?
