I've watched a lot of these revert tutorials and this by far is my favorite one. The explanation of starting to turn with your toes and ending on your heels as you body moves over the tire really made it click for me. Thanks!

Aw thanks man! I just closed my shop and should have a lot more time moving forward to make videos. I’m gonna try and get set up on Patreon this week. I have a lot of videos planned that focus on body mechanics, including how to ride safely in the city, as well as some bicycle specific videos. Do you have any requests for future videos?

@@JakeLeary Awesome! Sure, if you think it would be cool, I'd love to know when to switch between the shaping modes. Which modes do you use and why? Also, how to use your onewheel in tight spaces like inside your shop (sorry you had to close it bro), also maybe hops and jumps and offroading, etc. Thanks again, and looking forward to more content and patreon!! 😃

Just wanted to say I’ve probably watched this video 3 times. Every time I rewatch, something new clicks with me and I get incrementally better at the revert. Weird because it’s not like you’re saying anything new in the same video... Something just clicked and I can’t wait to go out tomorrow and try again. You’re my favorite OW content creator, your tutorials are all 🔥! 🤙

Great video. I wish I can break my fear so I can do what you do. I still ride on grass or Astroturf. I fell on grass already because the stance on the One Wheel is extremely awkward. I mean I find it extremely uncomfortable to twist my body sideways to face forward, at times lifting my feet to my toes instead of keeping my feet flat. But I am staying with it.....I am 54
@JakeLeary3 жыл бұрын
Pro tip: astroturf is EXTREMELY difficult to ride on. Grass is great but you do have to watch out for any hidden bumps or divets. If you can’t twist your body you can always keep your body very parallel with the board and just turn your neck to look where you’re going

Thnx for these kind of vids! Very useful! But how hard is this one on a stock Vega tire? I have so much trouble turning the tire on asfalt.. Greets from Holland!
@JakeLeary Жыл бұрын
The Vega is pretty hard and slick so it’s one of the easier tires to spin with the right surface. On rough asphalt the narrower tires are easier to spon but will still wear down your rubber fast

@don.mccracken2 жыл бұрын
Great video, thanks! In preparation for the Revert, I tried your tip to carve with my arms swinging, but it did nothing for my turns. Any idea why? Even though my arms were swinging, I still had to turn with my feet and moving my center of gravity, basically same as without arms swinging. P.S. when is part 2 coming out?
@JakeLeary2 жыл бұрын
I guess it’s possible that the road surface is so grippy that the rotation does nothing. If you try on dirt or a slick floor you will for sure notice the rotation carrying through to your feet. I’m hoping to drop part 2 this winter!

WHY DOES EVERYONE SHOW A 180 FUNCTIONING AS A 360 all over KZfaq. I want to see a 180 not a 360 for functional purposes as in when I want to do a 180 not a 360. Yes I get it your doing a 180 but then your riding into it or out of it BACKWARDS (the revert is what everyone is calling it). I want a demonstration of a functioning 180 not a 180 acting like a 360 . Sorry for being a bit bratty on the topic but I’m not that proficient at riding backwards (yes I know I should be) but that shouldn’t preclude me from doing a 180 and actually turning my entire float party in another direction because a dog or an intersection or a ditch . What’s up with the flex from EVERYONE, not just you , that I’m a GREAT RIDER and I’m gonna show everyone a 180 but because I’m so good , I’ll just ride backwards and not show the body technique and hip positioning and weight distribution of an actual working, functional, 180 degree turn in all her glory :) ?
