These are made for computers, so as long as you want to listen to music while connected to your computer, or use an app to make phone calls on your computer, then sure, they're great. However, I don't think you could connect them to your phone directly. Quality-wise I like them a lot. I've had very expensive headsets before, but they broke down or stopped working just as the cheap ones. Do these measure up to the ones costing 10-20X more? No, but again, you can get 10-20 of these for the price of one of "those".

Yes, one for the microphone and one for the speakers. If your laptop only has one socket, then ignore the splitter. However, if your laptop's single audio socket doesn't have 4-ping configuration, then the mic may not work.

Not sure. Honestly I'm just theorizing because my gaming laptop has dual sockets, so I just hook it up and everything works fine. On the other hand I believe (theorizing again) that some PC compatible controllers (the one console players use) have only one single 4-pin socket, so these headsets should work with them fine. However, with a single 3-pin (regular stereo) socket there may be issues, but I don't think the speaker's volume controller would be affected. At least logically not supposed to...

Very good. Surround sound depends on your own equipment's software. I have Nahimic and it provides very good surround sound experience.

Noise cancellation is software based! Your system should work with the headset and clear out the outer noise automatically. If it doesn't then go to your audio settings and check for options.

Well, all I can say is that I personally handle all my equipment with great care, knowing just how sensitive they can be and prone to damage. If your mic stopped working, that means contact issue, so you may be able to fix it if you know how to take it apart, but I would suggest to handle the mic boom with care, because I know for a fact that the cables inside are very thin and can break easily.

how can?? probably you are messing up, did you check if have everything connected properly and if your mic isnt on mute aswell as check your adjust volume settings.

These are dedicated GAMING headsets! I mean, you can use it for music of course, but they were made specifically for video gaming. In other words, I would use something else for music alone.

They have Microphone On/Off switch and volume control all the way to mute, but not a dedicated mute button.

It's sitting on the shelves with the other 20-30 headsets I've reviewed!

Then contact them again! When we've had (we = product testers) problems and contacted the companies, they ALWAYS replied with maybe 1 or 2 exceptions out of a 100. So again, keep contacting them about the problem and about your warranty.

Most gaming systems have noise suppression built in, so they should sound OK on them.
