Online CTR - Tiny Arena, Sewer Speedway, Oxide Station 4K 60 fps

27 күн бұрынSome more races I recorded from Online CTR (great fan netplay mod for PS1 CTR on PC) after I got a bit better at maintaining reserves (but I'm still learning :p). Not much to say, great races, although how did I lose 1st on Oxide Station all of a sudden at the end of the last lap?

Playing the remake when it came out was already a crazy experience i wasn't expecting. Having the original playing 60fps online is even more crazy! This is peak racing for me right here.

it's amazing man. i played it 20 years ago, the best game of my childhood ! crazy to think you can challenge yourself against elite players, hopefully they will introduce cups also with points or tournaments :D

Yup, hopefully getting more stuff with updates! Apparently there's a native PC port in the works too which would be awesome and open a lot more doors for modding.

@@FunkyFinzy custom tracks and characters are confirmed and since it's in the hands of people who love CTR and not a big corpo that doesn't care we can expect good things to come.

Speed was still meta back then, but it's not as bad of a speed distinction as in NF

Also, U-Turning consumes all the reserves in the original, which makes the regular turning actually matter.

I love the original, everything so balanced. In the remake I hated the super turbo, the race ended in an instant and those who didn't know how to control it were at a disadvantage

what are your graphical settings on duckstation?

Just 9x internal resolution for 4K and 16:9 aspect ratio, rest is on default settings that I haven't changed.

In oxide station 1st and 2nd did the shortcut for that reason they win

You lost because they took the oxide station shortcut whereby you can skip the outer space station section of the track. at 10:50, you just jump off the hill. turn hard left and land on the lower part of the track.

I recommend googling "CTR Mechanics Tutorial" videos, there's instructions on how to maintain sacred fire and all that. It basically comes down to maintaining reserves by constantly boosting at the right moment and not letting the meter fall down.

Sadly my anti virus didn't like this mod and I don't feel like Jumping through hoops to make It work but I respect the effort that made this possible this Is a PS1 game and It looks like It was made for online

ehh this feels very different from the original, did they change something? like did they make it more like nitro fueled why can you see your reserve tank?

@@kraken5003it's not Blue Fire / USF, it's just Sacred Fire ( Yellow Fire ). USF is much faster and less controllable.

why is it so fast tho ???? original offline ps1 is much slower phased is it to satisfy the gen z/a because they are so hyperactive ?

Lol, it's not really any faster but 60 fps makes it seem way smoother (the original plays at 30 fps, and you can still use that version if you want)
