I welcome you to a new video in which I test Freezer Meals (German). I'll show you how I pre-cook and freeze several dishes for a week. I'm a big fan of meal prep, but I've never prepared food to this extent before. Is it worth cooking right away for a whole week? Does it really make everyday life easier? I test several Freezer Meals recipes and report on my experiences with them.
Vegetable cake recipe:
- 1/2 broccoli
- 2 carrots
- 3 potatoes
- 150g grated cheese
- 3 eggs
- 100ml milk
- 2 tablespoons cream fraiche
- 100g flour
- Salt pepper
- Nutmeg
- Marjoram
Cut vegetables into small pieces. In a bowl, mix together the crème fraîche, milk, eggs, cheese and spices. Fold in the vegetables and place everything in a greased casserole dish. Bake at 180 degrees for about 35-40 minutes.

Enchiladas recipe:
- 1 onion
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 pepper
- 1 small can of corn
- 1 small can of kidney beans
- 1 packet of tomato passata
- 1 tsp thyme
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp cumin
- Salt pepper
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- Saura cream
- Grated cheese
- Wraps/tortillas
- Sauté the onions and garlic with the spices in the pot. Add peppers to it. Deglaze with tomato passata, add corn and beans. Simmer for about 20 minutes, then season well.
Grease the casserole dish with a little oil and fill the tortillas with the sauce, roll them up and place them next to each other in the dish. Pour remaining sauce over top, if available, and spread sour cream over enchiladas. Finally add grated cheese and bake at 180 degrees for 25 minutes.
Pasta Bake Recipe:
- 1 onion
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1/2 eggplant
- 1 pepper
- 1 zucchini
- 1 packet of tomato passata
- 1 tablespoon oregano
- 1 tbsp thyme
- 1 tbsp basil
- Salt pepper
- Noodles
- Grated cheese
Sweat onions and garlic. Add the spices and let them roast briefly. Add the crushed tomatoes and simmer for about 20 minutes. Add the chopped vegetables and simmer again for about 15 minutes. Cook noodles at the same time. Mix everything together afterwards and pour into a casserole dish. Who bakes directly: put cheese on it and put it in the oven at 180 degrees for 25 minutes.
To freeze: Let the mixed noodles cool down completely in the tin, then put the grated cheese on top. Seal airtight and freeze. To defrost, cover the casserole with aluminum foil and place in the 180 degree oven for 50 minutes. Then remove aluminum foil and bake for another 20-25 minutes.
Chicken fricassee recipe:
- 1 chicken breast
- 2 carrots
- 1 handful of mushrooms
- 1 glass of asparagus
- 1L chicken broth
- 2-3 tablespoons of butter
- about 3 tablespoons of flour
- 1 sip of cream
- Salt pepper
Either cut the chicken breast into small pieces and fry them or cook them in one piece. set aside. Cut the vegetables into small pieces and cook the carrots in a little water. Melt the butter in a saucepan, stir in the flour and gradually pour in the chicken broth. Let simmer for a few minutes and add cream. Add mushrooms and carrots and simmer for another 10 minutes. Add the asparagus and chopped chicken. Season with salt & pepper.
Meatball Marinara Recipe:
- 1 onion
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 400g minced meat
- 1 packet of tomato passata
- 1 tablespoon oregano
- 1 tbsp thyme
- 1 tbsp basil
- Salt pepper
Sweat the onions and garlic with the spices and deglaze with the tomato passata. Simmer for 20 minutes. In the meantime, season the minced meat well with salt and pepper and shape into balls. Add the meatballs to the sauce and cook for another 20 minutes. taste. Serve with spaghetti, for example.
