I think one of the things that struck me were the shopping malls when I was in Osaka/Kyoto. It's not like American Malls with only 1 or 2 floors sprawling out it's 10-13 plus stories and each floor is basically something different. The food floors (as I called them) were nuts. You get what people consider a food court in the states but then you walk and it's like a whole freaking floor of restaurants. It truly was wild. Hope that explanation was good it's kind of hard to describe.

@@missplainjane3905 I've been to Japan a lot of times and every time I stay for at least a month so I think I can answer this 1. Japan is one of the most advanced countries out there. No matter where you come from some of the innovations they have for daily things will blow your mind. 2. Literally for all the categories I would have to give it a 10 across the board. I've traveled to a lot of countries and Japan has everything you could want and perfects it. It has amazing food, Incredible cities, beautiful nature, thousands of years of culture, and they have a high standard of living and if you're coming from somewhere like California like me it's relatively cheap but it can seem expensive if you're coming from a poorer country. But it's the safest country I've been to so thats what I really love 3. It's just amazing you have to go 4. And yeah I've been there plenty of times and I'm already planning my next trip.

I think you could manage even without Japanese. Most people’s English level is low, but everyone at least studies it in school so that helps.
