If a battery dies, it had life. Many times people ask if a battery still has life. It is not alive biologically, but that is not the only definition of life.

Technically, the singular of dice is die. The correct answer, therefore, is "die".

The marks on a die are called "pips" not "eyes", Similarly batteries have "life" if they are not dead just as a wire can be called "live" if it has current flowing.

The only time I have heard the pips called eyes is if you roll 2 dice and they both come up single, it is called snake eyes.
