Think that's why Rodney named his daughter Joan after their mum. It wasn't just a tribute to her but also to Del Boy as he had lost her and grandad, and knew Rodney was his half brother, but Rodney strengthened the family again by bringing Joanie back in the family by having a little girl named after her. So sweet really. Del was completely broken hearted when he lost his mum, so I think it's so sweet that Rodney thought that much of him he wanted to bring him comfort in some way - was such a lovely gesture.

I hear you pal. I was living in my maternal grandparents house first few years when I was born. Single mother in 80s Catholic Ireland and all... I was the only boy in the family too. All cousins are girls. So I had a very close relationship with him. In school my two half sisters and I would be dropped down before school 2-3 days a week because step dad worked nights and mam would be working early. In secondary school I'd come down for my lunch 3 days a week. He was a life long soldier and a voracious reader. He got me into books. Took me to Batman in 1989 when I was 5. Every week he would give me a packet of Batman cards and a pound. For Christmas he got me Batmobile, Joker and Batman. When I got into the Turtles he got his brother in England to find some, they were IMPOSSIBLE to get here and got them sent over. They had a picture of me as a baby on the sitting room wall until I took the house over. He died in 2010, my nana is 97 in a home. I have his house keys. With a 1988 commemorative 50p celebrating the millennium of Dublin, and his old McCarthy crest metal keyring. My middle name is his. I've still got tons of his books and have framed pics of his official army portraits...he was absolutely my hero. A wonderful man who went to mass daily but who told a nun, in 1984, trying to get my mam to give me up, but only referring to me as 'the bastard' that he would strangle her there and then if she spoke one more word, that his grandson has a home. My mam said she never seen him so angry and full of rage....i learned so much from him and I still miss him, to be honest, more often than my step dad...its why I changed my surname back to his and if myself and missus have kids his name will be passed on. I know what you are feeling and it's a nightmare of bad feelings and anxiety and pain... But you can take. You will take it and the good memories will shine through any darkness mate. I really mean that. Glad this video could give you some cathartic release and trust me, more will come. Guarantee he would be very proud of you. All the best David 👍 ☀ ✌️

I've been through many movies, TV shows and video games in my time, a lot of them set out with the sole intent of being profound and emotional. That's the mark of a true masterpiece, thank you Mr Sullivan.

I also like how Uncle Albert got some of their fortune back from beyond the grave. It makes it so impactful that nearly every key moment of Del being selfless (taking Albert in, giving up the Australian deal, freeing Raquel from Slater) played into him getting his happy ending. I admit while it does drag out the series a bit, I think Del losing the money also shows how pivotal this was, that if he really had just decided to care about success and go solo, he likely would have blown it and been left alone in the end. His family made sure it stuck.

It's amazing that Ronnie was able to do this, British comedy is often quite dark, but for one of if not the funniest sitcom to have episode that deal with loss of real life people not once but twice. I have DEL BOY tattooed across my fingers and a tat of the van... Absolutely huge fan of the show. My step dad who died when I was 19 was a massive fan of the show, named Derek and sort of a short, squat guy like Del. We had our differences and barely spoke for years but I've such fond memories of watching this with him and hearing his catchphrases on the show...he'd hear the doorbell go for a takeaway and slap his hands together and say 'cushty'...words like 'wally' and 'plonker' were used frequently. There is a very strong sense of family and some very emotional and poignant moments in this show that just makes you love and care about the characters more and more. I will say... Not leaving them as millionaires was the worst mistake ever... Oh and Rock and Chips is SO underrated... Kellie Bright as Dels and Rodney's mam Joan is an INCREDIBLE performance... And of course Nicholas plays Freddy The Frog... If any OFAH fans havnt seen Rock and Chips then please check the prequel out. So, to all OFAH fans, old and new, all over the world, I wish ye all the best and sending you all ☀ ✌️ ♥ 🥂 ☺ from 🇮🇪 you guys are the best. I could meet an OFAH fan in their 70s and have a laugh over wendy house or the chandelier or 'Roddys' ponytail or the glowing statue, or 'pomme du frite' or during the war.... I could do the same with a 20year old new fan...

All of these are lovely but for me the lift scene stands out, especially as at 36 after losing Dad by this age and Dog now in the last week after 17 years, it stood/stands out to me as I realised how true saying something out loud does indeed makes it more real/hurt even more in kzfaq.info/get/bejne/d5pomsqAnJnTe6M.htmlsi=e-AGov9-ztGpdmf6&t=498

Del owed the Driscoll brothers money and instead of paying his debt he gave the money, as he had promised, to Rodney for the flat so the Driscoll brothers had Del beaten up

Only fools and horses was made as competition for minder Both shows were great as kids in 1980s, as we got to see what london people were like just like us Never will such shows be on air again, as tv has loony toons on tv today who cannot represent society as todays society is full of twisted fruitcakes from different cultures who cannot work together. They should of let only fools end in 1996 trilogy which was a great ending Have not seen what ever shit they put out since that
