Oh just a heads up, Night vision CAN be done fpv. There are no latency problems whatsoever. But a PVS-14 with gen 3 elbit thin filmed white phosphor tube will run ya 3K. Plus it weighs 350g or on its own.

Awesome video love you guys my favorite peeps all in one place . I’m glad I’m not the only one that finds props facilitating . I love props they literally are what determines our flights . Speed , durability , flight characteristics and efficiency all come from the prop then to the motor . So much going on physically. On just those two factors alone is mind blowing . Love my gemfan props so far my absolute favorite .

Heatsink on the FC would reduce IMU deceleration in a crash (physics 101, the heavier the longer it takes to accelerate, so lower peak acceleration), so that alone would improve the survivability. Also heatsink would protect the components from direct hits. Not sure if that's worth the extra price, though - my cheap FCs live long enough not to consider those, for example.

The problem with drone racing is the tracks are not tracks but rather an assault course that you have to memorise. Its not a track if you cant follow it without memorising it. Also if it was a actual visually followable track it would eliminate a lot of the stupid manoeuver some tracks have.

for the pilot thing, I always say deregulate us and you can call us whatever you want. For my part 107 I had to learn everything a pilot learns in ground school + all the drone specific stuff. The only thing we didn't learn specifically was load calculations, we had to learn sectional charts, metars, airport operations, manned radio frequencies, vfr navigation...like I know way more than an average ultralight pilot has to know, and they're still called pilots. It's not just about the fact you can kill yourself if you crash, if I was super irresponsible I could kill myself or someone else if I crashed my drone into myself as well.
