Close, however, the unpleasant smell is usually due to you having a dirty cabin air filter. If you haven’t changed it yourself in the last 3 to 6 months, go ahead and do it. It’s usually located inside of your glove box. You might have to takeoff a couple screws and purchased a filter from your local auto parts store, there shouldn’t be any unpleasant smells after that

Changing your cabin air filter is important. But you'll still get a moldy, damp smell coming out your vents especially during summer, humid days. Neat trick is to spray something like lysol, alcohol based spray disinfectant directly into your a/c's air intakes while on full blast and circulation off.

Is called RECIRCULATE. Also, when you get in a hot car just roll the windows down. It helps get the car cooling faster. When the a/c blows cold roll windows up. You're welcome.

No, she is actually saying what she’s doing, but she’s using semantically erroneous language - she’s speaking in the positive rather than the negative. Since the function is “on” when recirculating and “off” when introducing outside air into the system, she should use the positive for internal air, and the negative for external air, but both are technically correct. She’s probably not a native English speaker.

Get your window tinted to help block out most of the heat while leaving the windows cracked. Let hem all down when you get in and black the AC to help push the heat out.

Windshield Fogged: click the front defogger button and let the car do the rest, same with the rears. Entering the car after its heated up in direct sunlight: roll down the windows for 3-4 Minutes, then use the AC. there is no need to change unnecessary settings and wasting time

They are not unnecessary settings. They have a purpose. The recycle air button keeps bad air from coming in and saves gas. Opening the vents allows fresher air to come in when starting the car. Even if you open the doors or windows, the effect on AC is better venting to start. Plus, venting helps keep your cabin air filter from getting moldy.

Some think it cost more. The recirculating air cost less because it is cooling cool air not cooling outside hot air

It also costs less cause it stops the "drag" effect. Which is basically driving with a window rolled down, letting air in, which makes the engine work slightly harder.

I adjust these to help me pass people on the freeway or alternate with cracking a window. It releases the cabin pressure and helps boost the car. Depending on the shape of the front windows might be better than the back to take off
