@jordancooper7598 Жыл бұрын
@@fafakatty6892 Hi! I think you have to figure out what works best for your hair. What I did was trim every 3 months. After I got rid of my damaged ends I extended trims to every 4 months and realised that was too long. I knew because I started experiencing more split and rough to the touch ends than when I trimmed every 3 months. So I went back to every 3 months. So you can start at every 3 months if you’d like and adjust as you see fit. Hope that helps!

The same thing happened to my hair. It shedded and broke off so much, that my twist-outs were see through. I was bummed because I finally made it to bra strap length. I shaved it completely bald a year ago and it has grown and thicker like it originally was. In my case, I wasn’t clarifying/chelating enough. Now I’m able to tell when my hair needs to be clarified. About a week ago, I put gel on my hair to slick the edges down and when I washed with a moisturizing shampoo, the front where I put the gel was brittle and shedding even after multiple washes. When I used a Ion’s Hard Water Shampoo, the shedding stopped and that section softened like the rest of the hair.

Some people are protein sensitive so for those who may be reading this you may just need a conditioner with protein vs a direct protein like Aphogee. Hey Jess! Congrats again! I’ve always loved your hair. It reminds me of my hair when I was a loose natural(currently have locs). Your hair doesn’t look horrible but I feel like it isn’t as thick as it used to be. I went through this same issues with my hair and I noticed that when I did a lot of low buns, puffs, half up half down styles even if I wasn’t pulling it tight it still was the forced tension on the edges. Over time doing that over and over again as quick and cute styles but it definitely thins out the edge area. I would differently recommend to get back to your old ways. Deep condition with a cap, hot oil treatments, and don’t forget protein treatments to help strengthen those strands! The aphogee 2 step protein process is a great brand to start with. Quick and easy. Also trimming it will help as well. . Can’t wait to see more marriage content since I’m currently engaged to be married in Jan 2023. I feel you sis as I have been there. Happy to share what I did with mine. Firstly I had to own that I wasn’t caring for it as I should. Secondly had to find out why it was shedding and breaking as it was. Answers were check my nutrition and over use of products eg product build up. For the past 18 months been taking a good nutritional supplement and concentrated on eating healthier - good benefits all around. I also think this addressed shortages around vitamin d, zinc and Iron. Then started using herbs such as fenugreek, alma, bhringraj, aloe, for scalp and hair. Moranga provided excellent topical nutrition for my hair. Hot oil treatments which has been working well. My hair is recovering well. Breakage and shredding is a thing of the past. Also put in place a simple hair routine that isn’t so time consuming and aimed at keeping my hair healthy. Stress was also a factor and found that the herbs lessened the impact on my hair. I am now planning a good cut by a professional as I have trimming ends myself. I consider myself even after 18 months to still be in the treatment phase so have learnt to be extremely patient with my hair as there are no quick fixes. I hope you find something that works for your hair before you cut it off cause it is lovely. You just going through a difficult phase and your hair is telling you something. Concentrate on recovery before cutting to ensure you have addressed the issues.

But I gave myself a cut and went section by section and cut off what needed to be cut off. You cant really tell a difference because my hair is just back to boob length. But it seems I just have to keep cutting it idk why I get getting split ends no matter what I do. But that's what I did. Do what's best for you and your hair health. also I think ur hair may be thinning from the stress you had been enduring. You had a wedding to plan and that alone is stressful plus things in your personal life. I have been watching you for years ur has thinned in the front I see what ur saying most definitely

Your not overreacting honey. I have been wanting to cut my hair too. It's long, but I just feel like something is missing from it. I may cut a few inches off and let my color grow out.

I see what you feel...your hair has definitely changed. I'd say the 3-4 inches by a professional is a good direction. You have beautiful hair,❤ we know it will grow back full and healthy in no time.

I can see the difference Jess. You know your hair better than anyone else and as a viewer, I can see what you’re talking about when comparing your hair now to your last big chop. I feel like I’ve been experiencing the same thing lately as well. My hair is still very thick and long, but for the past few months I’ve noticed a big difference in the thickness of the front section of my hair vs the back. I’ve been trying to keep it in protective styles, moisturize/deep condition, and just honestly stay out of it as much as possible. You have to do what’s best for you, but in my opinion I think you should at least “wait it out” so to speak and just continue to give it a little tlc before deciding to start all over again. But love ya sis and can’t wait to see more of your videos and what you decide to do❤️❤️!

Aw no you’re not overreacting. Like many of the comments said, you know your hair. And we also can definitely see the difference compared to your example pics. I experienced something similar. I started taking more vitamins, drinking more water, being patient with my hair and I feel like I’m getting somewhere nearly a year later. Still have work to do though. Also my hair really liked olaplex. Maybe give that a try if you feel you’re lacking protein!

Hi Jess, Cosmetologist here... I agree with you going back and looking at your old videos to see what was making your hair thrive previously. As Content Creators, we try so many products, we forget what got our hair healthy in the first place..However you and your hair look fabulous, but I totally get it💜

Jesssssss. Luv listen to me. The Hair Growth oil is doing it. I know 4 a fact. I'm the one that started in 2020 using the same oil. For a year it was perfect. After awhile my hair went crazy Shedding Edges gone Hair was on my shower wall like crazy I cld touch it and it wld break off. Used all types of different shit. Cut it 3x. Grew back. Came out like crazy again. . I did research on the oil. I cut it again. Ditched the oil. Wala. It's the Hair Growth oil. I had the same symptoms youre having. I took about 4 months with consistency of deep conditioning. Protein treatments and it's wayyyyyyy better. It's the oil Jess.

What oil are you talking about just in case I’m using it I can stop?
@soriyazz2 жыл бұрын
@@phnesisarobertson7340 The wild growth hair oil from Amazon. I could literally touch my hair and it wld break off. The hair in my avatar represents my hair. After using that oil I lost half of my hair. I truly am like Jess. I didn't care about cutting my hair but I couldn't understand what happened. No new meds. Don't take many meds. Kept switching up deep conditioning shampoos. It was horrible. Hair literally wld grow but the ends was like Edward Scissorhand attacked them. My edges came out like crazy. It got so thin... Just swears by that oil. I did too. Because at first it worked. Until it didn't.

@@soriyazz Thank you so much I’ve been natural for a while I haven’t embraced it yet because I’m self conscious about my forehead so I wanna wait til it grows out more in the top it grows like crazy in the back but my top and edges are thin I’ve tried everything but I am 54 and pre menopausal so that could have a lot to do with it but I’m gonna keep up the process because my hair is still so much healthier

Idk what happened to my long behind comment but in short-this was me from end of 2020 to all of 2021 where I spent a year trying to remedy my he thinness. I had to start over bc that thin was not it for me and my hair started growing back so the roots were waaaaay thicker and it was like I was transitioning again. No amount of treatments, Ayurveda and them kitchen remedies (onion, rice aloe, etc) could help with the damage the fall out did. My hair is waaaay shorter than the waist length I had end of 2020 but it’s waaaaay thicker than those pencil-like braids/twists I had in 2021.

Honestly Jess I can’t express how relieved I am to see that your hair looks like my hair right now. Not that I’m praying on your downfall but I did end up having Covid once but it isn’t the main cause of my thinning. My hair is literally see through like that if I did a twist out. I would really appreciate if you could find ways to revive your hair. I am not completely ready to cut my hair but I have subconsciously made that decision in my head for the future

My hair is doing the EXACT same thing right now. First I just blamed it on my hair getting longer and being weighed down, but now I’ve cut 3-4 inches and it has only gotten thinner and finer. I don’t know what to do either😩 Lord help us please

The crown of the head usually thins during stressful times, I say do a good trim, also like you mentioned it could be due to the after effects of covid.

Hey Jess..I just went thru this period myself and hadn't even considered covid..I had it earlier this year and my hair was different and never linked the two..I actually just watched your maximum hydration method video and right before that I started using amla powder in the form of a mask on my hair for strength and growth..When I tell you that after just two uses of the amla mask (I used it the first time last month)..I instantly noticed a difference in my hair..this month I used the amla and left it in over night as a pre poo..then rinsed it out and proceeded to do the maximum hydration method you showed in your video..It's brought life into my hair..the amla mask and maximum hydration method together is the truth..my split ends even felt better which says a lot..I am currently on day 6 of a wash and go which is unheard of..and it is still going strong..I would definitely recommend an amla mask..I'm keeping it as a part of my hair care routine from now on..my hair is thriving..your hair still looks good but there is a difference from before..but I think with some tlc you will be fine..

I'm having the same issues you're having. Lol idk what to do either but I'm using old school products like blue magic and mixing it with some oils. I do let my hair get too dry without re moisturizing it during the week I have a style up but it may be something else that I don't do without realizing it. If you get answers, please do let me know lol 😂

My hair went through the same thing a while back and protein will be your best friend. You may want to start doing them once a month and limit washing your hair to twice a month instead of every week. I feel like a good trim will also bring your curls back to life! This is only a season. Your hair will come back fuller and healthier in no time ❤️

Hi Jess, you are not tripping ! I can tell I had the same issue this year and I was so frustrated. I thought bout cutting all of my hair because I didn't know what to do with my hair .. But I noticed that it happened right after i straightened my hair (i haven't had done it for 3 to 4 years before that). Even though I did one pass of the flat iron. I started doing masks, using powder (henna) using oil deep conditioning just starting taking care of it again basically lol and now it is starting to giiiive something Just dont give up sis !

My hair has done and once again is doing the same thing again like yours. My left side, I have no hair in the front. Sometimes we are the only ones who notice the difference because it's our hair. And when your hair is thick thick and you lose hair but it still looks thick people think you are tripping. When I do a twist out and I'm looking in the mirror and I can see the sunlight coming through my hair, to me my hair is thinner. Just like you my twist aren't juicy they are limp and small. Do what you feel is necessary for YOU! I truly understand! I hate my hair right now! Do what makes you feel good! Good luck 🌹💐🦋

Decaf black tea rinse, a small trim saved me from chopping of mine a couple months ago. My hair was coming out like crazy everytime I combed or washed due to colour. One treatment of the black tea did the job for me. Also using clove tea to spritz.

Ok so I was typing this comment suggesting you go to a professional salon to get an even cut and a hair reset. Just got to the end of the video and you said it yourself lol. Yes, the front of your hair is thinner but it still looks healthy (aside from the breakage of course). We have similar hair so I’m excited for whatever journey you choose!
