As a Canadian I was just content to make it to the semifinals - surpassed my expectations. However why should the players just settle for this. Argentina looked vulnerable in their last game vs Ecuador. I say let’s take the champs out! Why not dream big, let’s go! 🤩

@@Nocomment78793 Exactly. To get respect you have to beat a CONMEBOL giant. Chile was a giant for 10+ years but their golden generation has aged out. Not much respect earned if Canada finishes 4th - which is the highly likely scenario at this time.

The refs in this tournament have been corrupt or incompetent, and I don’t know which is worse… I think we have a chance against Argentina if we actually take our chances… unfortunately we have less of a chance against Argentina and the refs together… 😅

I would say beating Colombia in the Gold Cup Final remains their biggest win, but this one is a very close 2nd. Almost beating France in 86 and Belgium in 24 are the next two big performances.

Gold Cup is a minor tournament that Colombia wasn't taking seriously as an invitee. This is far bigger for Canada. Any performance where you lose is nothing.

Regardless, it was a championship match against a tough opponent, so that's higher to me than beating over-performing Venezuela - traditionally 9th or 10th in Conmebol... Now had Canada eliminated Brazil in the QF, well I might look at it a little dfferent.

The objective is WINNING, as long as you don't cheat, how it's achieved doesn't matter. Canada didn't "steal" the games. I don't know which is your team, but if the same type of thing happened to them, I'll bet you wouldn't say they stole the games. Oh, and just in case you didn't understand what I wrote... Eso es parte del fútbol. Muchas selecciones a lo largo de los años han tenido recorridos relativamente fáciles para llegar al campeonato (cualquier campeonato), o han tenido suerte. I'm from south America... in this present Argentina, Colombia and Uruguay are monsters among the other south american teams... If you beat Argentina you will be creating a MIRACLE...
