Funny how you talk of mental health, when I constantly re-watch your videos to help me deal with my mental health! I bet you any money you don't realise how much help you have given, not just me, but loads of other people who also struggle. I work in an industry that was crippled by the pandemic, and I am just a wee office worker, relying on this job to help pay the bills and feed me and my dogs! I constantly dread thinking about the future, coz it doesn't look great for my industry, so please keep up these amazing videos, and never forget how important you are 🤩

I took my "mental health" reset this past weekend. On Friday I exploded at a "Karen" in the grocery store, and almost wound up slapping her. Later on I was still aggravated and decided to hell with this! I loaded up my cart that attaches to my mobile scooter, and went on a trail into the woods, and found a spot where I could get in. My "tent" is made from 3/4 pvc pipe I connect together and cover with 2 tarps, a cot with a wool blanket with a mylar blanket taped to it, my "sleeping bag" is a king comforter folded over and sewn at the bottom and 1/4 up the side. Coleman 2 burner camp stove, campfire coffee peculator and 2 gal. of water. A few other bits and bobs, small fry pan, pot, metal plate and real fork, knife and spoon, and food, snacks, and a book. I sat and read, did a little shuffling about to woods, listened to some music. Watched and listened to nature, and had a damn good scream and a damn good cry. My friend joined me the 2nd night, and we sat by the campfire chowing on burgers and crisps. We talked well past midnight, and in the morning went fishing, (after coffee of course!). Monday morning early, we packed up and headed to our homes. Reset, and refreshed, I breaded up my fillets, deep fried them and had a awesome sandwich!

I can't even with the two of you! Fendy is just the most adorable and so are you! The friendship between you two is too cute. I treat my dogs like they are my children and speak to them as such so it's just fun to see such a bond. I might have missed it but where does her name come from? Stay safe out there!

The woods are magical in the dark. I have been up in a tree stand many times long before sunrise and sit and listen to the woods wake up. Owls will w00t! and that will eventually make the turkey gobble and with birds start to rustle.... magic.

That sunset says it all, experienced something similar last weekend in Pembrokeshire. You're never going to get away from people leaving rubbish, makes my blood boil. If you can pack something in, you can damn well pack it out !!..grr. Shame about your tent Griz, hope the repair wasn't too much. My dog usually does the damage to mine, trying to bust out in the morning or deciding he'd rather sleep leaning all his weight on the tent wall fabric, never mind he's got his sleeping pad and bag ..lol. Gaz, like you I'm a big bloke. Had probs getting a bag, quilt to fit. I'm 6'4'' so if it covered my feet my shoulders were out. So... I made one. 2 morino wool blankets, I stitched Egyptian cotton sheets to one side of each for extra comfort and insulation Then sewed them together down one side only and the foot end and sewed about 12 inches up that side to make a foot box. I use this in a swag roll mat. No tent. The blanket is very warm and will wrap around you more than once. Hope this helps. It is a faff, but once done it will out last anything on the market. Cheers. Hey Gaz. Great light show both you & Mother Nature put on for this video. I’ve mentioned before that I’ve not camped for years because I have unfixable spine deterioration & managed to develop fibromyalgia. Yay me lol. I’ve wallowed long enough relying on several types of pain meds & almost dropped having a social life totally. But for the past year or so I’ve been working on different types of pain control & slowly ditched the more harmful meds. Changing my diet has helped massively. Not that I’ve ever been a junk food eater or even like chocolate, crisps, biscuits, cakes etc. But by dropping a few carbs & glutens, my energy has increased massively and so has my motivation. Now it’s time to get back to the little things that make life worth while like camping and going out more in general, plus I suppose I should get a part time job and build stamina doing that so I can eventually go back to full time. I’m twice the size I was before my problems because I walked everywhere. Diet isn’t going to help that, I need to get out walking more. camping is definitely going to help with that. I’m listening to your tips on good equipment. I’ve been creating a shopping list of the barest, but bestest essentials. My gear needs to be light, but efficient. So a huge thank you for all the assessments & recommendations you provide, they’ve been very, very helpful. I’m not going to be a winter camper, but I can feel already the spring change in the air, so it would be possible to start camping quite soon & id definitely make it into October. So not a bad length of season for me. And I’m lucky to live right next to woods and fields to escape to in non camping times. Even though I’m only one garden away from the woods, actually sitting in them has a greater benefit than just looking at them over the fences lol. Plus the dogs prefer being in the squirrels garden instead of the squirrels being in ours. 😂 One new tip I didn’t know, research for the fun wardens presence in the places I’d like to go camping in. I actually didn’t know there was such a thing. I wouldn’t go on forestry commission grounds, but I thought you’d only get in trouble if a Walker reported you and the council sent someone out. So thanks for that & all the tips I’m getting from you. Your great. Have a good week 🕯❤️

Sorry Gaz, thought I’d subbed months ago but done it now so can look forward to going back and seeing what I’ve missed out on! Sleeping bags for rotund men like myself(and women) seem few and far between and I can’t stand the confined feeling in a bag(if I fit at all) which is why I prefer hammock with under quilt/over quilt . If I have to be on ground I use a “Pod” “The Beast”…just a cheap and obviously large to carry sleeping bag rated for 3 seasons. Sooo much room to move about it’s like having quilt and works for my needs at the mo. If you’ve not seen them they are 115cm wide!, 230cm long and 2.55kg and I think just under £30 for mine delivered. Thanks for the tips you’ve shared and there is one back for you if you’ve not heard of it. 🤝
