今日こそミツバチの観察をしようと巣箱に来てみたらミツバチの姿が見えません。先日大量のスズメバチに襲われていましたので逃去？何かあった？と心配していたらオオスズメバチが一匹飛んでいました。
今年は２回粘着シートで大量に捕獲しています。そのためか今日は一匹での襲来ですがそれでも相手はオオスズメバチということでミツバチは巣箱から出てきません。
捕獲したオオスズメバチには申し訳ないですが、このようにミツバチが巣箱から出れないままでは花の蜜や花粉を集めに行けないので食糧不足になりミツバチが冬を越せない可能性が高くなりますので持参した虫取り網で捕獲することにしました。
注意：オオスズメバチは気絶して動かない状態でも毒針で攻撃してくることがあります。手で持つのは危険なので絶対に真似しないでください。
When I came to the hive to observe the bees today, I could not see any bees. They were attacked by a large number of wasps the other day, so did they escape? Did something happen? I was worried, but one hornet was flying around.
We have captured a large number of wasps with sticky sheets twice this year. That may be the reason why only one hornet attacked us today, but even so, the bees did not come out of the hive because it was a hornet.
I am sorry for the captured hornet, but if the bees cannot leave the hive, they will not be able to go and collect nectar and pollen from the flowers, and there is a high possibility that they will not be able to survive the winter due to lack of food.
Note: Hornet may attack with its venomous stingers even when stunned and immobile. It is dangerous to hold them in your hand, so do not imitate them.
