the latest OP-1 field firmware update introduces velocity sensitivity, as well as the ability to adjust tape speed to external clock, a mono/stereo setting for line in, pre-tape panning, and syncing of fm frequency with OB-4.

On the fence about selling my original to finance a Field 😅. As for undo, a good friend of mine shared the lift/drop truck w/ me. The trick is to lift and drop immediately to the track you’re about to record to. If you have a bad take simply go to your in point and drop again. Voila, you’ve dropped the previous audio down again sans bad take 😁. Just be careful not to lift again. I usually drop that audio somewhere further down the tape just in case. Hope that helps!!

Whelp I guess the argument that the op1 isnt a "real synth" is done. This combined with the wave synth onboard makes this the "only" portable full synth on the marked next the the M8. My only suggestion to TE now, is to utilize the full memory on board to maybe get clouds on it and look into a lot more synths, similar to the M8. We are talking like 200. I know theres space for it. The more synths the more power. Possible ad a tracker sequencer to it as well. Theres a lot that can be done here with the space allotted. The price is steep so the idea of beating out the competition by fully packing the device would make it a most have for the competitions. The op-1 revolutionized things a decade ago when it came out. Dont get me wrong, the Field version is good, but its not revolutionizing anything. I say this with love. It needs to be more future forward and more future proof. the m8 tracker beats it in everyway possible and I say that with love to the developer of the m8 as well. Both devices are amazing, I just think TE needs to push the OP F to the freaking limit, think ludicrous mode on the tesla. Go power level 9000 on this, it has to be done for the price.

OP-1 revolutionized how badly you can fleece a bunch of no-skill hipsters by making your toy look like an apple product. "only portable full synth" - there are full fledged DAWs you can run on a tablet.
@ryokokofficial
@ryokokofficial Жыл бұрын
@@Michael-xr5yx HAHA ok bro, have fun when that "daw" on your ipad loses development funding, then goes dark and eventually deprecates off the app store. The op-1 is a daw, combine it with, something like a digitakt, makes it a complete audio studio. Add a third recording device like a Zoom H5 and now you are recording lossless. Congratulations. Want something cheap. Uase a pocket operator as your samplr, direct into the op1 and just record on there. Now you dont needs an ipad, a daw, or 3, and 50 VST's, finally realize its not enough, buy a laptop and logic or ableton and then more VSTS, and audio interface, and brand new keyboard. I really also like this concept of "no-skill" hipsters you used here. You mean the no skill hipsters that push people towards an ipad with 20 interconnected apps, usb interfaces and the like, to do.... what... the exact same thing someone does on the op1??? I mean I could call you the same thing, like "gosh look at this newb making music outside of a full audio recording studio, wow what a hipster, look they didnt even go to music school." Your attitude is the problem not the op1 field, your projecting points to an inability to produces, so lets take a step back and get to the point. Dont yuck someones yum just cause your music isnt up to par.

@@ryokokofficial "Your attitude is the problem not the op1 field" Many people feel the same way, including people established in the industry. It's silly to say everyone else is the problem, rather the questionable business practices of TE. Clearly Michael hit a nerve judging by your lengthy and emotional response.... I hope you recover.

@@ainsbass no emotion just a response as a TE educator. you seemed to have parsed an entire thread looking for this or at least the entire TE op1 field space within youtube looking for comments to... comment on. Id say you are the one having a panic over this. Instead, I recover, or you know, just not engage with a product you hate or a brand you do not like, seems like a large waste of time and life when you could be enjoying other things, like touching grass.

TE is a fashion company for know-nothing newbs with deep pockets (or lack of personal responsibility) and high affinity for social acceptance via shiny toys, i.e., hipsters. @@AveMcree 🤣 ur opinion is just that. most samplers don't have synths and a drum machine built in, much less 6 voice polyphony on synths, drums and samples. we could go back and forth all day. eye-spy the MPC Key being the closest I can get to the op-1f and even then there is an obvious size difference. Akai is charging for future additions (flavor pro/Model D) and MPC key only retails $100 cheaper, which goes away quick if you want flavor pro or model d. If only the MPC key ran for 20hrs on a rechargeable battery. I'll appreciate taking my OP-1F with me when I visit family for the holidays, doubt I'll do that with any other piece of equipment. Let a good thing be man, the hate is played out and it's starting to reek

TE has never charged for firmware updates. You know that going in. The original OP-1 got an update earlier this year, 11 years after the first units shipped, adding these features: added usb audio device in & out, allowing direct digital recording to and from your favorite pod application or daw external tempo sync stability improved when tape is armed and OP-1 receives a play command, recording now starts Plus a bunch of bug fixes, and there has been another update since then. What other company would've added USB audio input and output to a midi device they sold 11 years ago in a free update?
