I'm looking to get a wired ethernet connection to my laptop in my room upstairs when my router is downstairs in the living room. If I put this in my room could I pull ethernet off of it or does it need a wired connection to it to have a ethernet signal? For additional information I have googles mesh wifi system with 2 points and a router. The signal I get from them are consistent but poor and I need a faster signal for schooling and work.

Hello, I bought an Opal router, I was surprised by how friendly its interface was for Wi-Fi networks. I need to know why when I download an application it doesn't appear in the application bar. My internet uses cgnat, so I want to install an overlay application as a server, only zerotier appears in the list of applications, tailscale does not appear. Please if you can explain how to install applications. I have v4.3.11

Hi Yakov, thanks for enquiring! Opal is the cost-effective version of Beryl, it is more affordable but comes with similar security features and a combined Wi-Fi speed of 1200Mbps. @@GLTechnologies Does the GL-SFT1200 have less security features than the GL-AR750S-Ext ? I am still unsure which model i should order.

GL-SFT1200 have similar features to GL-AR750S, they both supports 30+ VPN providers for you to choose from and is encrypyed with DNS over Cloudflare. The main difference may be that GL-SFT1200 have a higher combined speed, while GL-AR750S-EXT has a micro sd slot for you to store files and it is also smaller in size so it makes it very convenient to bring around!

The photos show there's a lot of empty space within these newer routers, can you please use smaller enclosures again? I'd like the smaller size of Mango but with Gigabit and 5GHz like Opal!

Thank you for your enquiry! You can connect to our router through ethernet, repeater, tethering and cellular, so wifi isn't necessary depending on the connection mode you're using🙂

Hi John, the input power should be 3A. Using a powerbank should be fine too, however we cannot guarantee its performance.

Thank you for your question! If you are using Opal as a repeater to broadcast Wi-Fi, it'll work with static IP address.

This router has great specs and price, but looking at the pictures, there's a lot of empty space inside. Why are you using enclosures so large? It would be great if it was the size of Slate. Also, a dual-band Mango-sized router with GigE and USB-C would be nice, too! The 2.4GHz is very congested, so a single band router has limited application.

most likely because of the manufacturing process/pricing, as they have several models with different specs that all share this same enclosure.

How do i stop it from randomly turning off??? it goes from white light to blue light randomly and it disconnects me

Hi, yes you can keep it on 24/7. Our travel routers feature passive cooling and won't overheat with constant running.

Yeah, it can be powered by a power bank. Actually, all of our travel routers can be.

Sorry, but the login for the admin panel web address times out despite whatever web browser I use and I have disabled anit-virus and pop-up blockers and my attempts are consistently timed out. There must be a better product than this out there.
