Many thanks for the video. Working perfectly! Opel/Vauxhall should really take action on this. Even when off-warranty. It appears to affect thousands of Astra owners Cheers.

Thanks for the video, very helpful. When fitting the new screen did you manage to feed the orange ribbon cable through the slot in the plastic surround? I can't figure out how it's possible. In the video it looks like you left it between the metal of the case and the plastic surround which is the only way I can figure out how to do it. Thanks.

Hey. You're welcome. I pushed it slowly and I put a flat (whatever you have that is flat) from top and slowly dragged the ribbon up. Just don't squeeze the ribbon.

Hello. You should first subscribe to My channel. You should buy the Lcd with the black glass. Or else you will need to take the glass out from your own Lcd. It isn't easy. This link shows an example. I don't own or get paid for the items. a.aliexpress.com/_mNChy7g

@@Mr.Gheasi Thank you. I’ve checked all the connections and seems ok. The only thing is that the new screen did not come with the silver ribbon, so re used the one off the old screen?! Might have to order another screen in case I have just been unlucky.

Well vw are different. In this video, I show you how to change the Lcd and not the screen. I bet your friend changed his to a different one which had android auto built in.

On my 2nd hand Astra 2018 screen sometimes won't turn on. But not always. It usually shows the logo but after that it stays totally black. If I try it again in an hour it will work like nothing happened. Any ideas what's going on? Thanks

Hello. It's not something that I have encountered. If the lcd is going to die soon, it will be flickering og black screen where everything works but you can't see.

@@Mr.Gheasi I have the car for a week now. This first happened three days ago in the morning - black screen but the radio worked fine. After driving for 5 minutes I stopped the car and locked it. After 5 minutes I drove again and this time the screen worked fine. Now this happens almost every drive. One time it works another it doesn't. And even when the screen doesn't work, the Opel/Intellilink logo still shows on the screen when I sit in the car. Next the radio screen should show up, but goes black. Pressing on the screen for radio stations works fine. I contacted the previous owner. He said he already replaced the LCD a year or so ago and since then he didn't notice anything strange. I guess it's just my luck :lol: But as the screen is not dead I'm guessing some bad contact might be to blame. I'm also guessing if the main battery might be going bad and makes such problems? My previous car was 2005 Astra H and when the battery was old weird things could happen.

I have just had the same issue in my astra 16 plate. Vauxhall quoted £1100. They admitted it's a manufacturer fault with the LCD screen I now have a dispute going on for them to pay for the replacement. Can I ask were you purchased the replacement screen?
