Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, as in the previous years,has organised an “OPEN DAY” event to show-case its activities to the student community and the general public on Saturday, 04 March 2023 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
On this day, students, science and technology enthusiasts, and the public have an opportunity to visit the Institute and go around the campus to explore the exciting science and technology initiatives and activities of the Institute. The Open Day will feature popular lectures, experimental demos, poster presentations, quiz contests, scientific competitions, and exhibitions that will be showcased in the various departments and centres. A “Kids-Zone” will offer a special attraction for all the younger students, with a number of science and technology demos on display.
The Open Day is for IISc departments to showcase their research activities.

Maybe a student or resident from the area can help me with this. I’m a british pakistani student and the university id like to do a PhD with in the UK requires I spend 2 years at IIsc. Now there’s obviously tensions between our countries, how would a Pakistani feel at the university? It looks really good and I’d love to attend but i’m concerned about the treatment I’d feel, if anyone could help advise me for or against, id appreciate it.

Hey hi, I think most of the people in IISc are intellectuals so they wont treat you based on your nationality.genuinely speaking I dont think majority of people will treat you any different if anything people would be nicer to you. I have pinned your comment hopefully someone would be able to answer your question more appropriately😊

@@Sneha_Negi Your answer is true but to diplomatic Sneha. Problem is unfortunately even science and tech is not free from some radical minds who brainwash and don't let scientists and engineers do their work. Lets also not forget that companies and policies also are controlled by humans in the end which invariably means science and tech is not free from politics and related things. I wish I was wrong but unfortunately truth is not very sweet.

You will be welcomed and treated like one of us.... You will feel safer here in india way more than ud ever feel in Pakistan or 99% of the countries .... for an instance indian cricket team won't return from Pakistan if a match happens there , but they are treated with respect and welcomed whole heartedly here😂

Nice video ,thx I miss the campus life… 1978/79 nostalgic memories !! Not sure where our old faculties /staff members of school of automation..Dr S.K Sen, Dr Soodh, Dr D.N Sheshadri (Chem Engg), Dr Mahalingam(Physics Dept) Chakrapani are !? Still remember the the 1st day I noticed …canteen writing on the wall something like ‘wasting of food is a social crime’!

@@sabhyatasingh_for_vsks sorry i really dont have any idea about it. Your doubt can inly be cleared if you go to iisc website and find whats the actual criteria. If then also its not clear to you . You can ctually call in the given number in website and have your query resolved. Or you can just email them. I also had some doubt before my admission. They usually reply

hey sis i am going to take a drop this year and apply for iisc in 2024, i belong to the general category, so i need some high rank, i am confident enough that i would easily get into it next year, but i have a query in my mind, i want to choose bsc because i like physics and my opinion is that if i like physics, studying it would be easier and i dont have to stress on my studies unlike my firends who are taking btech in the courses they were offered, i see them working hard again to maintain their gpa etc etc.i dont want to do btech because i am fed up studying hard the subject i dont like till class 12th and i dont want to end up like my friends struggling to study and continue it for next 4 years, ahh finally my query is that, if i love physics do i need to work hard in iisc also, i mean if i like the subject it would be a lot easier for me right??i am taking drop becasue i dont want to do btech and want to do bsc physics only, and i can get into iisc with a extra struggle for a year.Soo is my decision good??its been 1 month since the video have been uploaded, but still hoping a reply from you..

Kya IISER main bs ms ya bs main first year main pcmb teeno subjects padhaye jaate hain and second year main koi ek subject choose karna hota hai Because aisa Maine suna hai I don't know how much is it correct? Mujhe sirf CAOS wale me maza aya interesting tha other than that i got to know one very important thing Cense wale bahut passionate h 🤣 zabardasti tour karwaye exit k liye pucha toh lecture dia humko jaane nehi de rhe the😭 phir humne apni intelligence k pradarshan krtey hue nitrogen tank k pass se niklne k asafal prayaas kia gate BAND KRDIA unlog ne alas hum rote rote unki lab ghumi ghumi krne gye phir chup karne k liye ek methi namakeen tofee de jo humne mauka pe chauka maar k muthi bhar uthali. CSE wale dept mein multicore lab deka jissme lock laga tha but they got very nice wallpapers for PC. Aur phir hum ye regret krtey krtey chale gye ki padhai ki hoti toh aaj shayad iisc mein hote na ki apne campus mein but we love our teachers most of them are from iisc. if you want to enter into one of the under graduate course that is BS research or Btech in Mathematics and computing, then you can enter through NEET or JEE in BS research and using JEE in Btech. for post graduate program you can either do MSc or PhD or MTech through GATE or IIT JAM
