An important setting that I think most users of Figma should have turned on by default, which is opening Figma Links directly in the desktop app!

This option exists in the browser, not in the desktop app. So enable it from there, instead of trying to find it on the desktop app.

My brower version in chrome does not have a Preferences menu...or at least I cannot see it

Hi! I never used Figma before and i just downloaded the desktop app and made an account. Now when I open the app on my laptop? Is asking me to log in with browser, but I want to open in on pc not browser. How do I use it on the desktop with no internet, no browser etc and just as a normal program on my laptop?

this wont work for some, maybe its a Figma bug. For example im logged in both in the browser and in my desktop app. However in the browser i dont have the option to open it in desktop, it just says "Get desktop app" even tho Im logged into both.. very weird

I figured it out for me, it's my ad blocker, i had to turn it off for Figma

I have one query as well, I saw your video on carousels in figma. Is there any to automate the process, I mean in loop. Can those carousel keep sliding in loop, is there a way in figma to do that?

Yup, just add a delay in between interactions instead of a drag trigger.
