I do all my canning the same way. Peaches, pears, guavas pineapple, curry grean beans, curry cabbage, curry noodles, beetroot etc and the last more tgan a year. Go for it my dear!! Love from South 🇿🇦

I learned this method on another channel. It's so easy! You are doing a great job for your first video! I can't eat tomatoes because of the acid, but I've done lots of jellies and jams.

I've never heard of open kettle canning but already figured it out a few years ago. I use a tea kettle and just fill my jars up and pour back into the electric kettle. When I am doing a lot I put all the glass jars in my oven at 225 °F and use long tongs to pull them out, it's super hot. You can also put your lids on a sheet and put in there too. It cuts down on the steam in your face. The nice thing about the oven is you can stack a lot of jars. Of course all the organizations say this is an unsafe way and not truly considered canning.

Thanks for the video. I am going to share a couple things I have learned in canning. Always keep 1 inch to 1/2 inch head space. More is better. This summer, lots of people have had trouble with their lids sealing. Ball has put out a message that it could be the vinegar doing it. I just started hearing about wiping with vinegar the last few years, no idea where it came from. I am not wiping with vinegar anymore unless I have canned something greasy, like meat. Then will wipe the rim also with just water on a paper towel and dry it before putting the lid on. The vinegar can break down the rubber on the lid. Just saying, make your own choices about how you want to do this. Good luck young lady! Good to see the young canning!

Great advice, & l totally agree. Also a tidbit that l now do: l grab my washed clean pint jars, & put them on a clean baking sheet, heads up. Oven at 220-250, & l sterilize AND have hot jars ready to fill. They stay in that hot oven for approximately 20 min, & l take 2 out at a time & fill with product. This is easiest for me. Your kitchen, your rules! ❤️❤️

I will be trying this next year. The harvest season is over here in Wisconsin. I don't use a pressure canner for anything.... (sorry USDA.)

Thank you for this amazing video! What an amazing labor of love you are doing for your family and wow looks like alot of work but how amazing! I can not wait to see more! If some one wants to try it out and not maybe do the quantiy you are what a basic must have? Like a basic start kit?

Your welcome! Thanks for watching! I would decide what your interested in preserving and take it from there. If you want to make salsa for instance you can preserve it through the method I showed in the video. For that you would need a. Couple large pots( one for sterilizing jars and one for cooking ), jars, citric acid or lemon juice, a funnel, canning tongs . You can pick up a little kit on Amazon for $10.00. Happy canning 👍

Wow pointless and dangerous should not be done it works with tomatoes cuz of the high acid content let's be smart about this you can put these in a water bath & and I realize everybody says this is how my grandmother used to do it people go over Niagara Falls in a barrel also be safe be smart
