I use what we call a Uní-Brow setup. Take the two holes where a V would go and place a single strap across it. This gives me a place to hold the board during start and in swells, but once up I can slide my foot out and I’m strapless. Very handy that way.

Awesome presentation, Hugh. The north straps are super comfy. Have been running the single free foil straps but think I'll go to the V strap as I switch both ways before gybing.

Could you use the V strap inverted? like an /\ ? 🤣 A bit out of the box thinking.. That would allow the front foot to go a bit more over centerline (for both left and right)

@North Foils I'd like to be able to use windsurf straps I have laying around. Can you specify the size of self tapping screws that can be used, #8, #10, #12? And the recommended screw lenght. I have a North SEEK. It would be nice if this info was included with the board setup documents (couldn't find it anywhere) Thanks.

Hey Bill, Thanks for reaching out to us! For the foil straps on the Seek, the 6.3x25mm self-tapping screws are used. The length of the screw will depend on the thickness of the windsurf straps. Please let us know if you have any other questions. See you out there, Jamie 🤙

Are the insert holes in the board threaded or do you just screw in like a pre drilled hole in a piece of wood?

Hey Brian, Thanks for reaching out to us! Our foil boards, such as the Seek, Swell, Scoop, and Scoop Mini all have inserts with predrilled holes in them. If you purchase one of our strap sets (North Free or North Free Lo), you will receive the right self-taping screws needed for these inserts in the same package. Thinking about getting a front V Strap and no rear strap as a transition from no straps.. what is your thoughts?

Hey Adam, Thanks for reaching out to us! One strap can be used as it allows you to already have the front foot in the sweet spot. Allowing the back foot to shuffle for the best position and weight distribution. Please let us know if you have any other questions. See you out there 🤙
