Everything will work out. You just have to ask yourself, "what is it that I want?" in every negative feeling & try to catch yourself quickly & Shift your Focus to what you want & how that will feel...or seek any & everything to appreciate. It helps to start your mornings with Appreciation & as quickly as you can catch yourself in a negative feeling, reach for a better-feeling subject, or talk yourself into a slightly improved feeling by looking for a positive aspect. I'm finding that if I make those types of small efforts, the Universe responds very fast to bringing me a soothed perspective & from that soothed feeling, then I can start thinking better, more hopeful thoughts. My Soul jumped when you said fasting-because this is the penance I have been doing for some time per Spirits guidance, in order to get something/a wish that I know I’m getting, but it is a requirement for me to do the penance-while reading Vedic texts. Thank you for your reading. With reference to pile 1; it resonates. Strangely, manifests other way round for me. Since you mentioned about nine nights for fasting and meditation. I want to share that in Hinduism wr have ritual of Navratri that is nine nights of fasting and religious activities that culminate into Durga Pooja on Day 9. We observe Navratri twice a year. It is worship of Shakti , mother divine.
