@CharlesFreck
@CharlesFreck 2 жыл бұрын
F2 absolutely has anti-stall, I don't know where you heard it didn't. The problem isn't the cars, it's driver error. They need to just give it all the gas, but instead they try and save the start to they don't end up at the back, and that compromises how the anti-stall works. F3 likely doesn't have an anti-stall because of trying to keep them as cheap as possible.

I think it might have something to do with the optical illusion of acceleration happens when the car infront is at parallel eye view to the driver in the back. The driver behind definitely thought the stopping car is accelerating and realized that it actually stops milliseconds before he could even avoid it. That's why open wheel racing usually have rear blinking light to notify driver in the back that it's slowing down, but i guess some series either don't have those or it doesn't lit when the car stalls..
@ballaking1000
@ballaking1000 2 жыл бұрын
@@ryoichiwatanabe648 Nope, almost surely it has to do with the driver changing his settings on the wheel.. He doesn't appear to be looking in his mirrors or over the sidepods- and if he was looking straight ahead, he had about a 3 second view of the stationary car to react and didn't- he HAD to have been looking at the settings on his wheel. I know what you mean by optical illusion, but these drivers are required to have perfect vision and their level of focus/concentration/alertness/adrenaline is through the roof at the start of the race (they all may as well be on cocaine lol)- there's no bloody way he succumbed to an optical illusion for 3 seconds- that illusion usually happens when a driver quickly glances and the brain hasn't had time to process what was being seen and is usually followed by a driver quickly looking a second time. This driver was 99.999% looking down at his wheel.

Formula cars can't start themselves, they need to be started in the pitlane. So you couldn't park them against the inside barrier anyway, even if it wouldn't completely ruin the racing and be entirely impractical. Trying to park them like that would only be more likely to induce stalls.
@CharlesFreck

The PROBLEM is that cars coming from behind can't see a stalled car because their vision is blocked by a car in front of them. The OBVIOUS SOLUTION is to hang 4 sets of 8 lights across and above the starting grid. A light would display a HUGE FLASHING RED X if there is a stalled car in that lane and position on the track. There was a fatality in Montreal in 1982 where Paletti Ricardo was hit because his car stalled at the start of the race.
