City soundscape of Midtown New York City in binaural audio. This is a view of 33rd street from my hotel room in the evening. The audio is not looped and recorded on location. This recording features sirens, construction, people, traffic sounds, and more. Sounds can be used for sleep, study or entertainment. There's also a bit of white noise. Thank you for your support. Enjoy!

I visited New York about a month ago. I stayed at a hotel in Manhattan and for some reason my room window didnt have a lock on it and I was able to completely open it. Every night before bed I would open the window and just listen to the sound of the city. It was so relaxing. I miss it already.

*man, i'm so city-sick.* i miss New York so much. i miss walking around The Village, rushing to get on the train/bus and my MetroCard not working, getting really good bagels in Bay Ridge, petting a bunch of dogs, not being able to sit down and eat on a park bench because of pigeons, having to tell 7 different creepy guys that i don't want to buy their pirated films, riding in car service during the rain, meeting new people everyday, spraying 99 cent silly string off of my grandma's fire escape, getting stuck in elevators, stepping in mushy snow during the winter, and my absolute favorite... *walking around the city.* walking around New York City in the nighttime is so very different than the daytime. i know everyone says "the nighttime is when everything comes alive," but New York is already so alive, i mean, just by looking out your window (depending on your view) you can tell: the lights; the people; the cars; the birds; the buses; the trees; the buildings; all of it is already so alive. but nighttime, now nighttime hits differently. that's when all of the lights are brighter than they normally are; the people are more dressed up or just leaving work; the birds are hovering over people who are eating; the buses have more people on them; the trees are sometimes lit up because they hang sting lights around them, so they light up during the night; the building lights are on and people are just getting home; *New York is just such a unique place to live because sometimes you never know what might happen.*

I live in a small town where nothing ever happens and I hate the silence at night. It's so unsettling, even though I've lived here my entire life. Every time I hear a siren - be it the firefighters, the police or an ambulance - I get this comforting feeling inside. Same when people pass by my house talking and laughing. Makes me feel less alone. But I rarely get to hear any of that. So that's why I love this video. Thank you for sharing.

I'm in a somewhat large city, surrounded by noise but mostly confined inside due to covid. Even though there are things going on all around, it can still feel lonely. Many years ago I found a New York city traffic cam to watch online. It was aimed at a corner, so fun watching people walking into shops, down into the subway. Especially when they gathered for a time talking, even late into the night. It's true, NYC never sleeps. After months of covid I find I'm getting too involved with tv shows, thanks to Netflix and Amazon prime. Starting to feel like the characters are my friends.

I’m from New Jersey, but this still reminds me of home. I moved to North Carolina, and it’s nice. It doesn’t snow, it’s rarely cold, it’s cheaper, and the people are more pleasant. But it’s too damn quiet. Sometimes, I miss New Jersey. I miss smelling fifteen different restaurants at once, hearing fifteen different languages at once. I miss the sweet sound of car horns and angry drivers cursing and the smell of pollution. I miss that you could walk two blocks and feel like you’re in two totally different places. I miss the sound of the train at 2 am, the car engines all night going on and out of the area, the sound of some people doing some illegal shit outside. It was chaotic, but it was home.

I listen to this every night when trying to sleep because the silence terrifies me. I have bad hearing and always hear sounds that aren’t real and I always think it’s a robber or monster or murderer when I hear the sounds. I listen to this to cover up those sounds and so I can feel closer to people. I used to love going to sleep while my parents watched tv in the other room and I could hear it or better yet, a party. I live close to a motorway but we used to live closer and I could faintly hear the cars at night and I loved it. I’m going to get a house close to a main road when I’m older so I can hear people at night and it will be cheaper too because people don’t like living near loud roads! But really it’s so comforting hearing people. It makes you feel less likely to be murdered.

Im more of a loner person, so i dont need company 24/7, but its sounds of the city I miss and need. Miss the sounds of the train traveling overhead on the bridge, and the sounds of the waves from the east river from the seaport. Not to mention the traffic and screaming/shouting lol. Edit: I use this video a lot to help me focus. I mean to me, as a city folk, this is my form of silence. Boost up the volume and I am able to drown all my roommates and ppl's voices and it not only makes it feel as if Im back home, but also allows me to enter a quiet place in this hectic university.

I love this. New York City is my favorite city, and I actually prefer the city sounds to complete silence.

I spent a rather large portion of my young childhood in Manhattan working after school. Sometimes I think I’ve forgotten small things, but I can remember the sounds and smells and feeling of falling asleep in the back of my moms car on the ride home every night, and the feeling I’d get in my stomach every time she hit the hump on the Hudson Parkway a little too fast on the way down. I miss it now, and it’s been years since I’ve been back. It’s all so different and the city I was in love with for a majority of my life isn’t the same. I live 1,400 miles away now. When I hear it, though, I can see the city I used to love and Claremont playground and the four steps we’d take down into the same brownstone on 72nd for casting calls. I can remember taking freight elevators and practicing lines in the car with my mom, and listening to Stevie Wonder and Alecia Keys on the drive. Things like this help me remember. Thank you for this video.

The first time I spent the night in NYC I was lulled to sleep by the traffic. Some people don’t understand how I find it relaxing, but clearly a lot of people do💗💗💗

An open window in NYC at night, with the lights and sounds and movement of people walking below, and city cars... How did you KNOW that's one of the things I *love*???!!! Got to experience that when I was a kid, and my dad used to have a friend who taught him Chess in NYC; every few months, we'd take a drive into the city, and I enjoyed the view from their apartment. I don't remember what floor they lived on. And again, the night my husband and I were JUST married and stayed a night at the Plaza Hotel; I think we were on the 3rd floor that time.

I can remember the sights and sounds of being in New York City for the first time when I was 10 years old. Back in 1997, before the twin towers fell. The Manhattan city sounds just brought me back to that moment. I remember the first night I was in New York City, I couldn't sleep, I stayed up all night listening to the police sirens blaring. I still dream of being in a large city like this. :)

All of the noises and voices together is easy to fall asleep to because it sounds like one big memory, or like you’re dazing off because everything sounds like a blur.
