I purchased a Qool Rail and it had an improperly set eccentric wheel. The base moved each move and messed up lots of images. I was told about this video and was successful at taking apart the rail to the point of being able to re-adjust the wheel and now it works flawless. I love this rail. Perfect for micro photography.

Hey, nice video! But what do you think about lubricating of the lead screw?
@OpenBuilds4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! When lubricating our lead screws make sure to use a silicone based lubricant, so the plastic nut blocks don't degrade.

Looking at the rail as a z axis for my upgrade CNC build. I like how compact and clean this is designed. I've got a 3018 pro with a bunch of upgrades now. It cuts aluminum accurately, if you set the speed rates low enough. Its accurate now on all three axis's with the upgrades. Just don't try to overload it. I can use it to cut the plates for the upgrade mill. I really want something in the 1500mm x 1000mm x 300mm range with a spindle that can cut aluminum easily. The 3018 is a nice trainer/entry level CNC, but its too limited by cutting size. I'll probably build an Ox large clone with sb16 rails on the long axis's, Nema23 motors and this as the spindle. That should be capable of the cutting I want to do. Still deciding on ball screws or rack and pinion for main drives. Anyone got an opinion on which way to go?
