Thanks we feel the same! Its a game changer when you first see the plasma kick in and blast though the metal! It's 4 times hotter then the surface of the sun so it melts like butter! The idea behind this plasma cutter is that it's an addon to the LEAD 1010 CNC router, so if you have the LEAD 1010, which is already a proven rugged design and being lead screw driven boast very high accuracy. You can easily addon this kit and create a plasma cutter. That being said you can simply skip the router and just go with the plasma cutter right out of the gate and later add the CNC router addon if you like. It’s a very flexible way to have access to two amazing machines for the cost of one.

On the Z height, We have it set up to cut through 1" steel, but depending on the plasma cutter being used you may be able to go even thicker, which is crazy Also as you know the LEAD is a modular machine and so it can always be modify to fir any custom need! well what I meant by Z height is the gantry clearance since it seems you need to manually insert a water pan and the support slats on top of the CNC table for the change over?

Yes you are correct we do need to add in these things so as part of the kit you receive lifter plates that put the Z axis at a good position above the material. So, from the bottom of the torch holder to the top of the slats you have about 80mm - 3" clearance. Hope this helps to answer your question.
