Created to make us rethink the very concept of apartment living in the city, Moshe Safdie constructed Habitat 67 into what is now one of the more iconic residential buildings in the world. It's an exciting place to live with beautiful views of the city and the Saint Lawrence River.

This is what I remember the most from this extraordinary fair! I went back in 1972 & thought this architecture was just as extraordinary as when I first saw it at the world’s fair! I always wanted to live here & remember walking underneath it, when I attended the fair & staring up at the building! Live thus structure & it looks just as modern, new & incredible as the first time I saw it! I always wanted to go into this place so thanks to this blog/video, I now get to view the inside! Thank-you so much for the best video/blog ever!

Wouldn't it be nice if they built architecture like this for the average worker and not just for the rich or very well-off?

Marchant2 That's the sad thing. This was intended for the average Joe, but construction costs were so high, it soon became apparent that it couldn't be so.

I found the inside, specially those apartments without carpeting, to be cold, echoed, and "tinny". Even my voice echoed, and a dropped pencil could be heard 2 rooms over.

@@LanielPhoto At this level, one has to take your word on your statement due to the fact that I never visited the apartments in person. Having said that, I hope they have taken care of the issues you claimed when you visited, for the sake of the actual tennants living there now.

Looks like the HOA does not allow anyone to have a patio umbrella on their terrace. And for good reason. After a while it would be impossible to regulate the wild assortment of sizes, colors and patterns. Habitat would look like a trailer park.
