Hey everybody! We have a few more Sanrio mystery bags to open filled with so many goodies. We spent $50 on each bag and you won't believe what's inside :-)

It must have fused our brains after being with each other for so long. Married for 20 years but we dated 5 years before that so we have known each other for a very long time :-)

What they don't realize is that the prices there adding up are the prices you would pay in the store for each item. They don't take into account that the store paid a lot less for each item and $50 is about what the store spent.

Wow those stuff are overpriced in their original price, specially that tiny quite cheap looking plastic tote bag. Most of the stuff were nice and I would have been happy for them (specially the plushies) but I would never pay those original prices for pretty much just toys. The Sanrio store must be very expensive so I suppose from that point of view they were a steal but I still think the real worth of those stuff must be around what you payed.

Merch from the sanrio store is indeed so expensive! When i went to japan last year i barely bought anything from the store cause even a tiny plush keychain would be $15 , these bags would have been such a better deal!

Do you think the lucky bags are such good deals this year because they needed to clear out inventory surpluses due to Covid and no tourism?

They need to destash often because they have new merch practically every week. Lucky bags, happy bags, and mystery bags are the best deals and what I have duplicates of, I know plenty of family and friends who would love them :-)

I know with the clothing bag they are known to sometimes mark them up for the bags. Do you think Sanrio does that as well?

I am not sure. The clothing bags do seem a little high but considering what I have seen in stores at regular cost, the bags seem cheaper and nothing wrong with them so I would consider that a win in my book :-)

These are mystery bags filled with stuff you could've bought in stores. A lot of friends say it is merch they want to clear out of their store to make room for the newer merch. I wouldn't say "old" or "get rid of" because these are really nice items in their bags.

Are somethings taxed and others not from the same store? It seemed like somtimes you were adding tax and other times you were not? Just curious🤓🤓

Some items the tax was already included, but there were a few that had the yen and then plus tax so we needed to do a little math :-)

Surprisingly there are hotel rooms much cheaper in Japan than some of the items found in our mystery bags. It also depends on where you are staying in Japan and how much space you need to sleep :-)

Traveling to and in Japan is actually not that expensive- although most people assume it is. Just be prepared to wanting to buy ALL THE STUFF in Japan :'). They have so many cool things there.
