Thanks man this is the only teardown of a controller with the 3.5 mm port. I was going crazy. Those white little squares fell off and I had no idea where they went, till I watched this. Now I feel stupid. Thought they went inside somehow haha

just ordered my new shell with the buttons. I have exactly the same controller and I was playing Fifa and the rb trigger just fell off/broke. it was hard to find the shell for this controller model. thanks for the video man now I know how to fix my controller. it was easier to find the video than the shell haha

Thank you for the teardown. I am very sad to see it is using the same analog sticks as the first model which was prone to drifting upwards on either stick after some wear.

It's hard to find Lb Rb replacements for these models

i have to hold my prong to the left once I insert it into the 3.5mm jack. Do I have to take the controller apart to fix it or is it just a positioning issue?

Nice one, had taken it apart as the x-axis had major drift right, hoping to check if i swap the sensors around to see if it was a faulty sensor, but that didnt do anything, so i guess next step is to solder the the whole module out, and maybe it will start working again?

Thank god the 3.5 mm jack isn't soldered on, the new shell I got was of the older models only but removing that lets me use it now, thank you plenty!

When I put the bumpers back into place the rb one seems like it catches of the right trigger, lb and trigger are fine though. Will this work out when I put shell back on?

How can you remove the sticker without breaking or tearing it inside the battery compartment you poked a hole in it ? I was hoping to pull it off and out it back on

Thanks for the video, I was about to purchase some different color button mods from ebay for my newer 3.5mm controller, I realized most of the sellers were saying that they weren't compatible with the new 3.5mm controller. I only want to change the ABXY buttons, DPAD and analog sticks......From my understanding, the only 2 things differenet in this newer controller VS the old one is.......1) 3.5mm headset jack.......2) Right and left bumpers plus middle is now all one piece.............Is there any other difference that you noticed from the old one?

my sons mic was all static, then it stopped working al together, i took it apart, cleaned the contacts with alcohal, rebent the pressure springs and it works like brand new again.

My controller's screws have a little piece of metal in the center where the bit should fit. I kid you not. I guess they weren't well made

Here is a link to where I bought my replacement bumper. This ships from China and it took 3-4 weeks to arrive. I knew that going in, but its only $2. It finally arrived and when I was putting it back together I could swear the bumper buttons weren't going to work. They don't feel right until you start putting the backplane back on, then everything just seemed to fall in place. Don't move the wires on the triggers. They are way too fragile and break easily. Unless you are switching out the trigger plates DONT TOUCH THEM!!!!
