As a person who has live PGX unboxings every month and have actually opened some PGX cases live on my channel, I can safely say that this is NOT the norm and probably a 1 in a million mistake (Which can happen).... So I hope you will open more then 1 case to see that this is indeed the situation.

The last PGX order I received was roughly handled by USPS. None of the slabs were cracked but ALL of the books broke through the inner well. PGX made it right and refunded my order. As a result, I have more faith in the integrity of PGX cases than their inner wells.

I have over 200 PGX slabbed books here, along with equal amounts of CGC and CBCS. EGS only a few specifically cause they are new. ALL PGX are sealed at bottom inner well. I just checked them. So either this was a defect or someone cut it. Each grading company has its own advantages to send books too. Also, PGX Labels are sealed along with the book so you can slide the book out without the label. If you would have asked around to see if other collectors or dealers had PGX books that had inside well sealed, you would realize that this is a rare occurrence. Would have been nice if you would have done that! Sounds like part of the propaganda machine. Did you go any further to see if other PGX slabbed books had the bottom inner well sealed before making conclusions??????? Thousands of collectors and a simple text, email, or call to any one of them would have told you that the bottom wells on their PGX books are sealed.

I think a simple fix for all the grading companies would be some sort of (foil/tape/etc) seal over the seam that if broken would evidence tampering.

Can you erase your scratches or notches with just a little of the stuff you used on the CGC cases to reseal? I believe you used xylene to bond the plastic. The grading and encasing companies should put a dab in each corner to fuse the pins and force someone to break the case to get in. Thank you for sharing this info.

I was told the label is attached to the inner well.

This is a clear case of a book coming out of the facility missing the Acetone on it because normally there's something on the side of the case that once you break you can see it's been open no resealing without it being visible. I keep forgetting though you can't do this with anybody else's grading company without noticing.

I notice on the CGC board there's talk of hologram stickers being a solution to this. Uh, NO. There are online printing companies that offer cheap customized hologram stickers to one and all.

So the one-part sealed inner well doesn't do anything else to offer additional protection? I thought that was something very different from CBCS and CGC

After watching this video yesterday , I was a bit confused , because I have over 300 PGX graded comics , from 2012 till this year , and have opened their many slabs over the years ,for various reasons , and have NEVER seen an inner well that had the bottom open as you show in your video , so I went to look again at over a 100 slabs and NONE are opened at the bottom . Yes the inner wells are completely SEALED ! So from my point of view , you need to explain clearly , without subtrefuge ,that you made an honest mistake , or that you are right , after having verified to our satisfaction ,that what you say is true or even partly true. It may be that I am mistaken , but you must show me , in fact I will contact PGX to get their answer. It is not good to denigrate someone or a company , in front of the comicworld without absolute certainty , unless , of course you are part of the CGC Propaganda Machine , or perhaps callously indifferent.

If the mylar was not heat sealed at bottom, that book has been tampered with. Which is why PGX is far superior to CGC. You can not swap grade/header in a PGX like you can with CGC. With PGX, the comic and grade/header are sealed together.

Funny how now you want to do this after the cgc horror issues and scandal. But let's be clear all cases can be cracked and opened. They were not built to be indestructible. Also, this is not the norm. All my pgx and cgc cases are sealed well. Don't try to drag pgx because cgc is in the crapper.

Looks like pgx made their older cases so people can take their books out to read.
