I love the respect you demonstrated when you first knelt beside your harvest! None of the "look at these horns!",, or "that's what we were after, a ??? size rack!". You demonstrated the sadness of having to take the life of an animal, to provide life for yourself, and your family. That's as how it should be,, always!

Tony Thomas yes,, I did notice that,, and I appreciate the size of the rack,, but for me, the respect given to any animal harvested is what is of the most importance. A large rack is just icing on the cake!

@@ncoutdooradventures6148 Ive found that once you have killed your elk and located it is when you realize how far it is to the truck and how big even a little elk is. I know I shot a couple that were so far from the road. Youi start to ask yourself why did I shoot that.

I always look forward to watching you and the THP crew on the Arizona hunts each winter for us up here in Michigan and every time I watch these videos I wish I was twenty years younger and listened to my parents and friends to not get married and too go hunting and fishing and have fun. Laughing...... But here I am watching you guys live the dream most of us couldn't and I wouldn't change it one bit so that's why I watch you guys do all of the hunts and videos we enjoy watching. I live 30 minutes from Unit one. 2 blown rotator cuffs and I can't pull a bow any longer. My absolute favorite hunt, archery elk in sept. Reminds me how much I enjoyed it. Got a b & c elk, muley and coues hanging in Show Low. Keep doin it!

I've watched a lot of elk hunting videos but I don't recall anyone walking at an 'elk pace' as a strategy when closing distance. Maybe because you were so close you knew he could probably hear you walking? That call in was awesome! Absolute bare minimum calling. Well made video.

Is that not the greatest feeling in the World! I had the same success for my first time harvesting an elk last year, also in N.M. Within 20 mins I had a beautiful 6x6 with the same knotted up brow tine on that left side as well. Congrats on a amazing bull.

Question: did you stop using the "flappers" or expandable broadheads after that hunt? For deer they seem to be pretty good but for elk they do not seem to be.
