Opening Day at Creek on the Kona Process X

Made it up for opening day with a nice crew to celebrate my buddy Dave's birthday and was treated to dialed trails and beautiful spring weather. Made some nice progression, hitting the Phantom Drop for the first time as well most of the wooden features on Salvation. Mountain Creek is so much fun and you're really missing out if you don't make at least one trip there a year. I plan to make four or five myself. They've got the flowiest flow, techiest tech, and jumpiest jumps in the area. No matter your skill level, you'll have a ton of fun and definitely be challenged. I can't wait to get back there...
In addition to the usual crew, Steve from BentspokesMTB / bentspokesmtb joined us for a lap down Salvation & Crap Chute, providing a perfect tow into all the features. Enjoy!

I wish I was but I'm off the bike healing from a serious neck injury that occured (ironically) at Creek about two months ago. Enjoy it though, it's a ton of fun.

Thanks, the camera detached and rolled fortunately...if that was my body, that probably would've been a day ender lol. Gotta get up there if you haven't been. It's so fun and great for progression on the bike

What made you choose the Process over something like the Trek Slash?

Didn't really consider the slash although that's a rad bike. My buddy Max, who owns Philly Bikesmith was really stoked on the process x and put the hard sell on me. Once he got one in stock, i pulled the trigger and haven't regretted it one bit.

How are you enjoying your Process X after a year? Any complaints?

I love it, but I've had a number of frame crack warranty issues. One on the down tube, two in the chain stay. All underneath shelter tape and non impact related. Kona has warrantied it each time, but it's been a hassle. I'm not sure if my case is an outlier but I can't recommend Kona carbon based on my experience. The bike is sick when it's not broken though 😂😂I upgraded to an EXT e-storia coil shock which took it to the next level and is something is highly recommend

@@PhillyMTB dang really appreciate the transparency! I have a 22 Marin Alpine Trail Carbon right now that I love but a little more travel and ability to lengthen the wheel base or go mullet sounded appealing.

Just found your channel, awesome stuff. I live near Spring Mount and am just looking to get into mountain biking, are there any trails you'd recommend to start out on?

Thanks! Spring mountain is closed for the season but I'd recommend not starting there anyways as its too advanced. You've got a number of great spots nearby, however. Evansburg and Betzwood are nearby and both not beginner friendly. When you're ready for more advanced stuff, French Creek and Birdsboro are also pretty close too

@@BlackacreDoe lol yes. Definitely a typo. Betzwood is very beginner friendly, evansburg definitely more intermediate but nothing too bad. If you can drive a bit, white clay is the best beginner terrain in our area

No just the phantom/patio drop. Haven't hit the cabin yet, but think this might be the season
